Howdy Folks,

Seeing that the topic of the ES-339 came up I found this last night in a local music shop.  How do you think the 2 compare and does anyone want to take a stab at what this should be going for?  The frets are pretty rough and its in need of a serious setup, the bridge is way out of alignment and theres a pretty noticeable scuff on the front upper bout where the strap button is.

Here are the pics.

Let me know what you guys think.  She plays sweet as can be.

Hey Folks,

Heres an Update.  I just spoke with the shop that has the guitar.  He wants 2k for it.  Is this a reasonable price?

I paid less that $1500 for one of these a few years back, and it had upgraded hardware and Seth Lovers.  The prices on the 20th Anniversary models are inflated in my opinion, probably because they are expected to be collectible.  (Mine is not a 20th Anniversary model.)

I'm no expert on the Millenium, but my guitar instinct tells me that's way too high. I'd think you could get a new one for that price, non-anniversary.

That's a fantastic example of a Millenium. I didn't check the numbers but looks like a 2000 edition which I like to think are more desirable (since I have one). The problems to expect with this guitar is the output jack failing and pickup rings cracking and needing replacement. Also, they aren't plek'd. The SD's and this guitar sound killer. I bought my M2k from a dealer used in 2001 in 9.8 condition for $1300 with a decent heritage semi-hard case. The case is fine but I would have wanted a full solid case. It doesn't go out too often or travel.

Anyways, if you can play it first, do. If you dig it than swoop it. The pics shown that M2k has much nicer flame top than mine and also the color may be more appealing to demand than cherry. I would say that price is high and you can calculate your own guess with a bit more info. If you can get that guitar and it's a 2k, get it at the right price for condition, and get it..... :)

I would not pay a premium for a 20th anniversary model until I saw what Heritage plans to do for the 25th in 2010. If you decide you want this guitar, check what they're going for on Ebay, Craigslist, etc. and make him an offer. It can't hurt, so good luck.

Further Update.

He would not budge from the 2k price tag, which is insane.  I would end up spending another couple hundred fixing the problems.  I'll check back in a few months and see if hes still thinking the same way =)

???

This really nice guy who is a lawyer in Nigeria said my long lost Uncle Fred died (and gee whiz, I didn't even know I had an Unlce Fred), and he's holding his money for me.  Apparently it's millions and millions!!!

All I have to do is send a small amount to the lawyer and he'll send me the check with the inheritance right back!!!

Psssst... I was just trying to make a funny.  Not criticizing you or the guitar or anything like that.

Be sure to include your social security number so this lawyer will be sure you get everything you've got coming to you!
