PunkKitty Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 This is the one that I got off of ebay. It came with a set of Duncan 59's stock. I didn't like the sound of the pickups so I installed a Burstbucker 1/57 Classic+ set. I'll keep that in there until the set of Manlius Fat Dianes that I ordered for it comes. I removed the black plastic and used aged white. I think it looks better. The neck is a medium C. It was described as a 59 in the ad. But it's not as thick as a 59 and not nearly as thin as a 60's profile. It's really a comfortable neck. It's in great condition. No buckle rash. And it's a comfortable 8.8 pounds.
davesultra Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Looks great! The crème rings really are a big improvement!
HANGAR18 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Great score! what the hell is wrong with you? smh. What? score (skôr, skr) A notch or incision, especially one that is made to keep a tally. The act of securing an advantage, especially a surprising or significant gain. To achieve a purpose or advantage, especially to make a surprising gain or coup. In other words, the party known as HANGAR18 does recognize and affirm in a congratulatory manner that the original poster known as PunkKitty has gained or acquired yet another Heritage guitar of significant value, favorable in appearance and weight to add to her guitar collection which does consist of many guitars.
PunkKitty Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 Actually, my collection consists of many fewer than it used to. I've sold many. And more will go. I'm consolidating into a few really nice guitars that I like. In fact, I shipped a Gibson Les Paul Studio when Fed Ex came to drop this one off. I don't see any more guitars in my future. I see fewer. FWIW, this is a very different 150 than the one I bought from Guy a few weeks ago.

PunkKitty Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 what the hell is wrong with you? smh. It's comments like that that sent me to years of therapy.

I'm consolidating into a few really nice guitars that I like. I know how you feel. I think at one time I had as many as 13....that was crazy stupid for someone like me that isn't in a band and only plays a few times a week. i'm down to 4

There is a guy in this area that claims to own more than 200 guitars (mostly) and basses (along with 25+ amps) that is still buying. He does play out in a tribute band, but he plays bass--not guitar.
JeffB Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Nice! One of my favourite Heritage finishes. Congrats.
rockabilly69 Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 8.8lbs? That's a great weight for a H150, SCORE!!!
Millennium Maestro Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 When I first saw your post asking someone to buy it and stop your temptation I was immediately drawn to her.... I went to the link and saw you had already jumped... My budget thanks you! She is a beaut!
ledzef Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 Have to let us know how those fat diane pups sound. I have a custom Chicago blues humbucker from Mick that sounds really nice in my Les Paul. Mick is great to work with. BTW great 150.
Blunote Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 We took a poll some time back to figure out the 'right' number of guitars. I think the median answer was 9. I have six electrics and tree acoustics. I could definitely part with a couple and still be happy. Back on topic: PK, that's was a great snag. I never heard of the pickups you ordered for it. Give us a sound check once you get them installed.
PunkKitty Posted July 13, 2014 Author Posted July 13, 2014 The more I play this 150, the more I like it. The neck is slightly slimmer than my VSB. They sound and feel different. Still, I'm thinking that I might sell the vsb. This one was a case queen and has virtually no wear. It's like playing a brand new guitar. It's also about a 1/2 pound lighter than the vsb. I really like that.
mtpatty Posted July 13, 2014 Posted July 13, 2014 I know how you feel. I think at one time I had as many as 13....that was crazy stupid for someone like me that isn't in a band and only plays a few times a week. i'm down to 4 I am DOWN to 18 now, I was up to 21...
PunkKitty Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 Well, that sucks. I installed the pickups and swapped the caps to Russian PIO's. To my ears the Fat Dianes sound kind of flat. I think I'll put the Fralin P92's in it and resell the Fat Dianes.
PunkKitty Posted July 20, 2014 Author Posted July 20, 2014 Honestly, I think I was just tired when I tried them yesterday. I just spent about a half hour with them through the same amp with the same settings. They sound fine this morning. Nice dynamics out of them. They are balanced well and adjusted properly. I might still sell them though. But I'm going to give them more of a chance before I make that decision.
