lightningflash Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 A guy at work has a couple of Heritage guitars and loves them so when I saw this on the local clist, I thought why not.....except I don't know what it is!?!?! LOL The serial # is D21810 which I believe makes it a 1987. The guy I bought it from said he stripped the gun-metal grey paint at one point and did his own custom sanding job on it. Maybe I'll repaint but not sure yet. The guitar has been played a lot in it's past so it's "naturally relic'ed". He also had a Seymour Duncan George Lynch Screamin Demon installed in the bridge but the guitar also came with the stock pup that was in it in the case. Thanks for any help or info you guys can give. Scott
PunkKitty Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I forget the model number of that one. But I like the burnt finish.
lightningflash Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 The seller didn't know but he said it was referred to as a "featherlight" but I'm not sure if that's the model name or what he referred to it as or what? The guitar weighs under 6lbs though!
PunkKitty Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 If I remember right, that was originally a single pickup guitar. It might be a H-120 that was modified.
tulk1 Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 H120, stripped of the gray matter that used to cover it. Not sure if they were all single pickup guitars. But as PK points out, most of the ones we've seen were single pickup up.
PunkKitty Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Apparently I know my Heritage models better than I thought I did.
lightningflash Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 I'm going to dsimantle it soon so I'll take some pics of the pickup cavity but the stock bridge looks similar to the bridge pickup so my guess is it was built as a dual hum guitar...but not sure. Did they make a lot of these? Are they rare? I don't see any for sale on Feebay or Clist. What's it worth? It's a very cool guitar but it's going to need some love. The neck screws are stripped-out but luckily I have some inserts for this repair. Everything is rusty...which is kind of cool in it's own sense and adds to some guitars mojo. One of the Grover tuners needs to be replaced as well. I didn't know the guitar was in such disrepair but I'm going to enjoy bringing it back to life. I feel like I unearthed a relic.
PunkKitty Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Apparently I don't know Heritage guitars as well as I thought I did. I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a HB-105 bass.
FredZepp Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Have you checked to see if there is a label in the control cavity?

lightningflash Posted July 19, 2014 Author Posted July 19, 2014 Any idea how much they were when they were new?
