Gianco Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Hi folks! This is my first post on this forum. Well, I'm Gianco from Italy. I'd really like to know what kind of bridge my Heritage has, you know I'm gonna change it with the graph tech one, and so I need to know the name to exactly understand which one Graph tech I need to choose. Sorry for my bad english, and thanks for your kind attention. Bye!
big bob Posted July 23, 2014 Posted July 23, 2014 Take the bridge off and look at the bottom, there should be info there.
tbonesullivan Posted July 24, 2014 Posted July 24, 2014 looks like the standard nashville-style tune-o-matic you see from a multitude of makers. Could be Gotoh or maybe Schaller. If it's got allen nuts to lock the bridge, it's probably a tone-pros.
Gianco Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 Ok. As I could remember there are no info on the bottom of the bridge, so what!? Well, now I will show you some other pics, and i really hope that anybody out there could be so kind to help me. I really need to know what kind of bridge my Heritage has,I'd like to order some Bridge Saddles on some web store... Many thanks! P.S:I've read your post about the "allen nuts" but I really don't know what they are...
tbonesullivan Posted July 27, 2014 Posted July 27, 2014 are the current saddles broken? are the screws for adjusting the saddles flat head or phillips head?
Gianco Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 No, the saddles aren't broken, and they have the flat head. I want to change them because it seems that sometimes the saddles could cut my strings. So I thought to replace them with the graph tech ones. Now, here in italy it's quite difficult to find the "string saver" saddles, so I have to order them on some web store, and I need to exactly know what's type of bridge I have...
soybean Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Yes it is possible that saddles could "cut" your strings. However, any guitar technician can smooth the slots using a file. Unless, perhaps your saddles have very deep grooves. The standard bridge on most Heritage guitars is made by Schaller.
soybean Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Also, using Big Bends Nut Sauce at the bridges and nut is a good idea: http://www.bigbends.com/
