JeffB Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Are there any that dont look like black plastic box's? Ive had a general ebay search for something that looks a little less modern high tech'y but nothings come up. Does anyone make anything that looks a bit more........nicer?
pressure Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I listened to a lot of computer studio monitors and liked the Mackie MR5s they seemed very neutral . I use a Apogee Duet interface into my computer and out to the monitors.
Gitfiddler Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 Check Sweetwater. They carry a wide variety from entry level as well as super high end pro near field active monitors. Plus I enjoy talking to their technical folks. Always good experiences with them.
chico Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I gave Genelecs near field monitors + sub woof sits under my workstation. Love em
bolero Posted July 25, 2014 Posted July 25, 2014 I use a small set of Fostex that work really well I think they're these: http://www.long-mcquade.com/18739/Pro_Audio_Recording/Studio_Monitors/Fostex/PM_Series_3_inch_Desktop_Monitors_Pair.htm but they look like black plastic cubes
JeffB Posted July 26, 2014 Author Posted July 26, 2014 Looks like black is the go. There isnt a lot of options out there at any price.
Dick Seacup Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 In the latest Guitar Center flyer they have some limited edition/exclusive KRK active monitors in shiny gold finish (to commemorate 50th anniversary). They wouldn't be black.
JeffB Posted July 27, 2014 Author Posted July 27, 2014 In the latest Guitar Center flyer they have some limited edition/exclusive KRK active monitors in shiny gold finish (to commemorate 50th anniversary). They wouldn't be black. I saw those online while I was scouring the interwebs. The black high tech looking ones I have will be fine. I was just being all design'y and extravagant.
