New Amp Day! Fender Pro Junior

Once I got to Kalamazoo Thursday night for PSP, I did my customary cruise around the factory and downtown Kzoo, then headed south on Westnedge, one of the main thoroughfares through town towards the Country Inn and Suites. Shortly before quitting time, I stopped into TNT Pawn to see what they might have. Lots of stuff in a clean, well organized setting, but not much I was interested in, other than a Fender Pro Junior, marked at $199. I asked the worker (with a Glock 19 9MM strapped to his side, by the way) what they would take for it, and he said, without batting an eye, $175 out the door. I asked for $150, but didn't get it. I STILL haven't checked completed Ebay listings, but this seems like a fair deal to me. I picked it up. A few HOCer's played it clean and quiet Thursday night, but I didn't open it up until this morning. Holy Schnikes!! I have owned the big brother, a Fender Blues Junior, heavily modded, for several years, but didn't expect this much from the Pro Junior. This thing sounds great. I was getting some vibrating noises from it at high volumes, so I took a Phillips screwdriver to every screw on the exterior on the thing, and every one took about 1/2 turn, tightening the amp up nicely. I was just going to play with it for awhile and then flip it, but this one might end up in the semi-permanent collection. Sounds good with the red 535. So good, in fact, I didn't plug anything else in!

Pro Jr.'s are little Pit Bulls!

Connect it to another 8 ohm speaker cab and listen to that thing bark. It's like you set a cranky tone-demon free...but you can still control it.

Have fun with that new toy.

Thanks, TIm! Obviously not a very big amp, but apparently gets warm and comfy on top once the tubes get warmed up.....

Good grab. That could serve all your practice needs, as well as many jams.

You write as though you are smiling. That's because the best NADs are happy NADs.

Congrats on snagging your new NAD.

What kind of tubes? How many watts? Looks interesting.
