Billgelder Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Lance and I pick up this Korina H357 in Columbus on our way PSP. I installed a set of Rewind JPPre72 pickups http://www.re-wind.net/Buckers.html and 2 push/pull pots with PIO caps. The amp is an original Pignose that I got from Ron “High Flying Bird” on the way home from MI.
Kuz Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Incredibly good looking guitar you got there. I Love the Korina and the natural finish. Very well Done!!!!!

FredZepp Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 An awesome axe, a work of art . And I bet I'd like those pickups too. I haven't owned a Pignose... they are supposed to be a fun rockin' amp.
skydog52 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I was able to see it in person. Nicely done. You and I might have an exclusive club of owning a HOG and Korina 357.
SofaPlayer Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Damn, that's a nice amp! Nice guitar, too! Jokes aside, this may be the lovliest 357 I've ever seen. Congrats!
fxdx99 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 She's a beauty. Gonna look even better once Lance makes that new pickguard for ya!
Blunote Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I had the pleasure of playing it and seeing it first hand. Definitely a 1st class grab.
Vanschoyck Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Man, if all trips ended with a new guitar and amp, I'd want to travel more for sure!
Cajun Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Looks as good as any Firebird I have ever seen. Work of art!
Gitfiddler Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 That is my all time favorite 357! The classy Korina, countered by the Flamed Maple works wonderfully on that axe. Even the pickup surrounds add a touch of class! Who owned it originally?
tulk1 Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Isn't that the amp with the built-in wah effect? You play, your buddy opens and closes the case creating the Wah. That one? ..... And those 357s just continue to amaze! Beautiful. Apparently, Marv is making more if you can go by the neck blanks in the factory.

Yes it is. wah I have learned to open and close it with my foot while I play the guitar. It is a cool effect but I have slammed my big toe in it a couple of times. No pain no gain.

Hfan Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I had one of those Pignoses when they first came out. 73 maybe. Used to bring it to high school with me. Was lots of fun. Congrats. Oh that guitar ain't bad either Seriously, it is a work of art, holy cow, beautiful. It's cool to go on a road trip to PSP and then even increase that mojo with a new toy or two. Congrats.
schundog Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 As fabulous as that guitar is, Bill, (way to go on the guitar, and the creative horse-trading that allowed for it!) I'm going to go against the grain (no pun intended) and say that it is NOT the most beautiful 357 I've ever seen. Your RED one is. No contest with any others I've seen. Enjoy them both, man!
rockabilly69 Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 Bill that rig is sweet, congrats! That's the wood/color combo I would go with if I was to have a Heritage built.
