MartyGrass Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 I got this in winter. It was built in 1994 as a custom piece for an archtop collector who is a friend of Scotty Moore. It was too cold to do outside pix. Today I was able to get it photographed in the sunlight. It was overcast and a bit dark, which slowed the shutter speed and added a little blur in some of the images. Here are all of the pix: http://s796.photobucket.com/user/mgoetting/library/Sweet%2016?sort=3&page=1 Here are some of the new ones.
FredZepp Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 SHAZAM !!!! That is a stunning Sweet 16 ! There is something to admire from every angle.
Gitfiddler Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 You KNOW how much I dig bubble-lishious, tubular quilt curl!! Plus the spectacular tight grained Spruce is amazing. Nice score, Marty.
Steiner Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 That is a cunning array of stunts! Superb snatch.
Vanschoyck Posted August 17, 2014 Posted August 17, 2014 That's a stunning looking guitar. I wonder if you can ask for that kind of look or if it's just luck.
pressure Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 That look was designed on purpose luck had nothing to do with it, and it is very well done, right down to the Venetian cutaway.
hinesarchtop Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 That is a cunning array of stunts! Superb snatch. Hahahahahahaha.....Funny! Beautiful 16 Mark!!!!
Thundersteel Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 When I read "Sweet 16 sunbathing," I thought it was about--oh never mind! That is a cunning array of stunts! Superb snatch. No doubt he knows what he's talking about!
big bob Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 When did you move to New Jersey? http://cnj.craigslist.org/msg/4592424844.html
Steiner Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Whomever wrote that ad is severely challenged by the English language. "It was Hand Carved in the year 2000, to which I waited 6 months for. (The Wood used on this guitar was prior to changes made in the guitar making field.)" Whoa... It's nice to see that the seller has predetermined the gender of the next owner: This is a dream guitar for a female jazz player or someone who wants an investment.
MartyGrass Posted August 18, 2014 Author Posted August 18, 2014 That seller lifted my pix. It's not the first time either. This guitar has never left the midwest. Since I'm not a female jazz player I must be an investor. Good to know.
Steiner Posted August 18, 2014 Posted August 18, 2014 Since I'm not a female jazz player I must be an investor. Good to know. I thought it had little breasts on it; that's how the seller knew it was for a female... Good to know. That wood is beautiful! With the right truss rod cover, it would certainly be the ultimate guitar for any player - (or investor). Congrats!
