HANGAR18 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I finally took a peek at the label under the pot cover to see what it said. (See attached.) While I was at it, I took a look at the pots and wiring. (See attached.) Braided wiring? Impressive! Can anyone recognize whether we are seeing 500k pots and bumblebee caps? I believe that the word "Deluxe" in this case means an ultra top, multi-ply body binding and neck and headstock binding. H-150 Deluxe #259 Brock Drapra Burst (What the heck is a Drapra?) AD22902 Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups For those of you who haven't heard the story, here is the short version. The 1959 Gibson Les Paul is the most famous and most desireable of all the Les Pauls. But occasionally, one specific 1959 Les Paul would become famous by itself. One example is the 1959 Les Paul that Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top calls "Pearly Gates". That specific guitar is very famous. So in similar fashion, there was another very specific 1959 Les Paul that had a uniquely stunning finish and it too became famous. That guirar was owned by a guy names Brian Brock and that is how the name Brock burst came about. Here is a longer version of the story... http://route66classicguitars.com/BROCKBurst.html#.U_Uxkk0g-Uk In the article above, Gibson made a Brockburst reissue from their custom shop. I think this Heritage version looks a lot better, if I do say so myself. (Previously posted photos in case you missed them.)
davesultra Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Looks great! Nice clean soldering job. The Seth Lovers come with single conductor braided leads. 4 conductor wiring on those are a special order from SD. Those are Sprague caps, but the pots do appear to be 500k. Don't know who or what the "Drapra" is about. Perhaps the last name of the guy doing the finishes now???
skydog52 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I was showing Dave up in finishing the color I wanted. He said it looked like a Brockburst. He had the book Beauty of the Burst up there and showed me a picture of the Brockburst and I said that's it. He did a nice job recreating that color. Danny you have a real beauty there! I believe that is supposed to be DaPra. Vic DaPra

Billgelder Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Brock-Drapra is the name of the 59 Les Paul that is on the cover of the book Beauty of the Burst. It is named after the two people that co-own it, Mr. Brock and Mr. Drapra. Here is a photo of my Brock-Drapra burst H150. It is the 2nd one made by Heritage in that finish. Jay Wolfe has the 1st one for sale at his store. He bought it back from the original owner. http://www.gbase.com/gear/heritage-h150cm-2012-brockburst#
skydog52 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Google search of Brock DaPra https://www.google.com/search?q=brock+dapra&sa=X&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&ei=e0f1U9T5MsyOyATyvYH4AQ&ved=0CDAQsAQ&biw=1600&bih=775
Millennium Maestro Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 That is standard wiring Danny, enjoy playing her as much as I enjoy lookinh at her!
PaGator Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Stunning guitar, let me know if you ever get bored with her
gpuma Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Bill, the cover of the book and your guitar have the same finish, but Danny's guitar seems very different.
dbetts41 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Vic also owns a nice guitar shop in the Pittsburgh area... Guitar Galleria

That is what is in my 157 and 535. They are metalized polyester film caps.

rockabilly69 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Other than the orange tint to the finishes, I don't think any of these guitars looks like the brock burst, but I think they all look great. I really like the deep flame on yours Hanger! If someone wants to go to the extent of making their Heritage look like a VintageBurst, I think you've got to throw a Gibson style pickguard, an ABR, a pickup selector switch ring, and the right binding on it, or it just loses the effect. It's too hard for me too associate a Heritage H150 with a Nashville bridge and the Heritage pickguard with a classic Les Paul. And, personally, although I HATE Nashville bridges, I LOVE the Heritage pickguard on H150's, and Hanger, your pickguard rocks!
Gianluca Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 what a great instrument if I got it correctly you have a 4C PUs wiring, that could be useful in case you'd like to have push-pull switching pots for splitting to single coil?
HANGAR18 Posted August 21, 2014 Author Posted August 21, 2014 Stunning guitar, let me know if you ever get bored with her Ha! Right now, my brain believes that this is the best H-150 ever made. So don't hold your breath as the saying goes.
TalismanRich Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I LOVE the Heritage pickguard on H150's, and Hanger, your pickguard rocks! I agree. The Heritage pickguard looks worlds better. The lines flow with the guitar and when they do the burst on the wood, its that much better!
Redsand Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 This guitar is in my top 10 all time fav Heritage Guitars.......congrats!
PaGator Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Not at all surprised that is one beautiful specimen, congrats and enjoy!
rockabilly69 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 Ha! Right now, my brain believes that this is the best H-150 ever made. So don't hold your breath as the saying goes. I love that! Rock on Hanger!
