Baci302 Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Looks like I may be keeping my Academy Custom I had up for sale after all, at least for now, which is good news. I love playing it. I'm seriously considering putting a Bigsby tremolo on it (in gold to match the hardware on the guitar) and wanted to see if anyone what model fit this guitar. I just sold my Gretch 6120 and would like to give the Heritage the flexibility to also play surf and rockabilly. Hence, the Bigsby. If anyone thinks I'm being a knucklehead for wanting to do this, please let me know. I'm hoping I can accomplish this without putting any holes in the guitar. If I have to, I may reconsider. Thanks, in advance.
DetroitBlues Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Get a Vibromate adaptor for the Bigsby.... completely reversable without adding any extra holes...
Baci302 Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 Get a Vibromate adaptor for the Bigsby.... completely reversable without adding any extra holes... I'm familiar with the Vibromate. Cool. Do you know which model Bigsby would fit the Academy Custom?
lazarusvt84 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Get a Vibromate adaptor for the Bigsby.... completely reversable without adding any extra holes... Just added a B7 with a V7 Vibramate to my LP Studio last night. So far so good. Solid. No drop in tone and better sustain, it seems. I'm a lefty so I had to make a slight mod to the B7 in the hole under the spring...not quite aligned. The folks at Vibramate warned me of this fact. Yes, that's my beautiful H535 recently acquired on the left.
