Redsand Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Found myself near the Palace of Auburn Hills today so I decieded to give our good friend "smaj" of the HOC a call. While this H-140 wasn't the purpose of our visit it quickly became a highlight.............the guitar simply rules and is quite possibly the most ass kicking guitar I've had the pleasure of playing! Seriously Kids...Wow.....Just Wow!!! While some of you may be familiar with this historic Heritage some may have never seen it before.......I certainly hadn't until today. I'll let "smaj" chime in about the particulars. Thanks again "smaj" it was a great visit!!!!!! and more importantly thank you for your service to our great country!
skydog52 Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 That a custom, custom. Maudie Moore inlays, that's special indeed.
smaj Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 That guitar was given to me by Marty, the owner of Motor City Guitar, I love him and his wife Melissa dearly, they take great care of veterans . Their prices a more than fair too. This axe has old Gibson pickups in it and all Brazilian rosewood on the knobs , headstock, pickguard and switch tip. I could never part with, and am happy when a fellow member gets to play it. Thank's again Redsand, your playing was beautiful also.
schundog Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Cool HOC hookup! Man, what a bling-ed out H-140! I really dig it.
hinesarchtop Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Wow, that's a really cool looking guitar.
FredZepp Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Sweet 140. I bet JP Moats had a hand in the design of that one...
NoSnowBlower Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Awesome...I met up with Redsand at Motor city in July. I asked one of the guys;"Who on the forum?". They weren't quite sure. Now I know. I stop there a few times a year. MY favorite shop in MI. Marty once sent me a X-Mass card. Sweet 140. I bet JP Moats had a hand in the design of that one... Ya Think? lol We all have fingerprints. JP's were covered in glitter. Next stop American Eagle
kidsmoke Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Drove by Motor City Tuesday, but had the boss in the car. I was happy to find out where it is. I plan to get back there and check it out. We gotta take care of these shops and try to keep them open. That is a cool guitar. Awesome...I met up with Redsand at Motor city in July. I asked one of the guys;"Who on the forum?". Here's what its missing..imo RW tuner buttons.Star inlaid Star in truss cover RW pokerchip RW PU rings Stars in pickgaurd RW back plates OH...and diamonds in the soles of your shoes This may have had PU rings at one time.
