AnH555 Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 http://delortoguitar.com/tech_talk.asp# Thought this info was good - includes a "special offer for all non-Plek'd Heritage owners". For your amusement.
drewzee87t Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 I don't know how I missed that...That shop is very nearby. And I have something that needs plek'd. Hmmm. You have initiated the launch sequence............
skydog Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 THANKS FOR POSTING THAT. WILL HERITAGE PLEK A PRE-PLEK HERITAGE IF YOU SEND IT BACK TO KALAMAZOO?
Paul P Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 Looks to be slightly old news in that the article was written before Heritage had a PLEK machine. My brand new plecked H535 is pretty good but it does have a couple of high spots that are certainly more than the "1/1000 of a millimeter" stated, maybe a thousandth or two. 220$US seems pretty reasonable for a pleck job. GuitArtMan Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 I've had three brand spaking new Heritages that had fret issues even after the pleking. It's certainly helped, but they aren't perfect. Also there are shop that don't plek that turn out awesome playing guitars: Tom Anderson, Don Grosh, Paul Read Smith, Terry McInturff, Carvin (yes Carvin), Jackson, Ibanez, etc. I've played instruments from all of the above, off of the shelf, that playeg great with buzz free low action.
JohnCovach Posted November 10, 2007 Posted November 10, 2007 I emailed these folks and here's the reply: Hi , I no longer offer a discount for Heritage guitars. My web site needs updating and i just have not gotten around to it. the cost to PLEK a guitr is 220.00. thanks rodney "How they look and how they sound is subjective to the player, but how it plays and how it feels is universal to every player." Yup, yup, YUP! The market has changed. There is no longer any excuse for a +$2000 guitar that plays anything but FLAWLESSLY. Heck, $900-$1200 guitars (and even some ones cheaper than that) have entered the "flawless" zone. AND, if you think about this way: "Less money and time spent routing or shaping is more time I can spend doing a flawless fret job or setup." It starts to make even more sense.
