Anyone play (or ever play) a Kustom tuck and roll amp.

Transisitors nit tubes - what do you think.

They look great but what do they sound like - thinking about this K-50 for $150,

Any opinions.

Thanks.

Bob

Try it. You might like it. That looks great for practice and low-level jams. I had a Kustom long ago. Wanted to sound like Credence Clearwater Revival.

I had a Kustom 200 with 2 speaker columns each loaded with 3 15" Altec Lancing speakers. It was loud and unbreakable. I don't have the amp but still have the Nauga that came with it.

NAD - Bought it.

Got it for a buck and a quarter.

Took it home, took it apart, re-soldered a couple of cold solder joints, major cleaning, 2 coats of Armor-all and ready to rock.

Kustoms are rated at half their model number so this K50-2 is 25 watts of the LOUDEST RMS watts you'll ever hear - ears will bleed.

Tone is somewhere between clean solid state and speajker distortion distortion.

Low to moderate ly loud is clean, Dimed it's a garage band monster.

Treble control and treble boost will drive the guitar straight though your ears; reverb is deep as an ocean.

ANd looks - too cool for school - I want more.

Wifey is not impressed.

Overall opinion, everyone should have at least one.

I loved the old Kustom tuck and rolls. In the late 60s our band had a Kustom 100 PA system. I wanted one of the silver or white metal flake amps but never bought one. :tearyeyed: My bad!!!

Now crank that sucker up and play some CCR!!
