Congratulations, that's a sweet 575 with some BLING! Block inlays, bound headstock. Is the top half of that darker than the bottom half, or is that lighting? Enjoy it, man; love my 575!

that's just the lighting, the laquer finish over the grain acted like polarized sun glasses!

I'd love to hear more details about the tone. I have the same wood combination coming in a few weeks. I have lots of theories about how is ought to sound, but it would be interesting to hear from someone who's actually got one.

i'll tell you best i can jim, i have it strung right now with dd 13s jazz round wounds, concert pitch, and i played for three or four hours last night after i settle up with the truss rod(i'm a stickler on a flat neck with very little relief,) any way, i pluger her into an old supro amp, which is a basic rca design tube amp, rectifier,2 6L6 tubes ,an ax7 ans a 7025, one volume, one tone switch, and a 15 inch jbl k series speaker, i run the amp about 30 % on the volume and back the guitar pots off to bring the volume just about the same as the acoustics of the box, with that deal, in a live situation i mic the guitar acoustically and the amp..what can i say next? overtones everywhere, this thing is a baby grand steinway, truly the nicest sounding archtop i have ever played in my life, although i did play a d'angelico new yorker in 1976,i'd say it's right there in quality..albeit a different guitar. but certainly exchangeable in many of it's qualities, i dig pickups, they are microphonic, but i'm a seasoned old bull and that's fine for me,the clarity it amazing..i been thinking seriously about divorcing my es335 and my old 330 and getting grand piano version.
