ironmike Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 after reviewing some forum advice i called the guys at heritage, following their advice, i drill a pilot hole (#43 drill bit)about 3/4" from the back of the heal, with the angle required for a flush fit..a leather gasket from a piece of scrap leather and dry ivory soap on the screw that came with the nickle" all parts" button. best balance ever!,gonna do the same on my maple top 575 now! huge improvement in playability with a strap sitting in a chair,i get loose real easy now..
MartyGrass Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 Glad it worked. The best spot for me depends on the depth of the body and length of the neck to the edge of the body. So it varies from guitar to guitar. Fortunately, reasonable humans adapts to most situations. So button placement is not a major decision really, at least not usually.
ironmike Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 how i hold a guitar, is one of the most important things in producing technique,a guitar that doesn't hang well for me is a bad as playing with my elbows jammed in my ribs,so for me, strap placement is critical ,of coarse i could forgo all that and just buy a marshal stack , plug in,get stoned, dress funny, and yell out some angry childish bellyaches..while i'm shattering the neighborhood windows..!!!!!!!!!!!!lol
ironmike Posted November 3, 2014 Author Posted November 3, 2014 it could'nt have been better. love that guitar design, always did..
