Redsand Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 WET DRY How would you finish off this H-150 CM? Hardware, Pick-ups, Electronics, Finish, Ect.
bsck1 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Wow, is that top beautiful. I completely lack the experience or knowledge to even suggest a particular configuration. Can't wait to see how this matures into another 225 Parsons Street masterpiece.
Vanschoyck Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Vintage burst, seth in the neck, pearly gates in the bridge - just like I would order it if I was getting one. Do I get it if I win?
peterbright Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Natural with all black hardware. Seth Lover pickups in black.
skydog52 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Dark Vintage Sunburst, ThroBak MXV 101 Plus pickups, RS Guitarworks electronics, Callaham Nickel Hardware, Poker Chip, Grover Vintage Tuners.
HANGAR18 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 A toss up between Vintage Wine Burst and Iguanna Burst.
Frank67 Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 It has a nice flame. So I bet something in tobacco burst or amber or a dark red would work really really well. Perhaps gold hardware? I could also imagine a natural look with gold or aged nickel hardware and amber knobs would look great. I think that a Seth Lover in the neck is a great choice and a bit hotter pickup in the bridge would probably work well (although I also really dig the Seth Lover there). IMHO, the Page wiring scheme is the best choice for such a guitar. It makes it super versatile without ruining the optics or messing with the way one is used to operate such a guitar.
Gitfiddler Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Dark Vintage Sunburst, ThroBak MXV 101 Plus pickups, RS Guitarworks electronics, Callaham Nickel Hardware, Poker Chip, Grover Vintage Tuners. Yes sir!
smaj Posted November 9, 2014 Posted November 9, 2014 Rose natural finish, gold hardware, Sperzel locking machines. Pickups would depend on music being played to me. Seth's are a great choice though. Or to be very different, three Bareknuckle Irish Tour set.
pressure Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Orange with a Black Johnny Smith Pickguard (just Orange no burst). Rezomax Gold Wraparound Bridge. Doyle Coils with Gold covers. Gold Sperzel Pro Tuners. Black switch Tip with Black Tophat Knobs and of course a transparent Stinger on the back of the headstock. This sounds good to me.
Number8 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Like this: http://www.chicagomusicexchange.com/collections/heritage/electric But I would make the pickup rings and switch tip cream, and the knobs would be orange drops.
brentrocks Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 1960 Heritage Cherry Burst, Aged nickel Tone Pros locking bridge and tailpiece, SD Seth Lovers with aged nickel covers, Kluson vintage style tulip tuners, cream plastic, aged bone nut, CTS 500k pots, .022 Russian PIO caps, nickel Schaller strap locks, no pickguard, cream poker chip.
pressure Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Orange H150.Next time shoot the guitar straight on so I don't have to spend so much time straitening it up.
Redsand Posted November 10, 2014 Author Posted November 10, 2014 Orange H150. Next time shoot the guitar straight on so I don't have to spend so much time straitening it up. Thanks for the mock up Pressure! Very sharp indeed!
yuominae Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Make it kahuna blue or a blue to black burst. With a top like that it'll look out of this world!
Gianluca Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 to the OP: natural or AlmondSB or OldSB, no PUs covers and golden hw(but I guess it depends on what PUs you want to use)
yoslate Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 I'd think long and hard about getting too funky with the details. Traditional is traditional for a reason. Something "creative" might have an attractive initial "Wow!" factor, but think about living with this piece. Skydog52's got the idea. Great lumber in the top! My $.02...? ThroBaks are awfully expensive...and worth every penny of it.

HANGAR18 Posted November 10, 2014 Posted November 10, 2014 Now I REALLY want to see the finished product!
