Found this clip. If you are wondering what is up with HRW. Watch this video.

My '13 LP has the same set-up, except it uses push-pull pots instead of separate switches. There is also a setting for bypassing the volume/tone controls completely, going straight out to the jack.

I'm NOT saying it's better than what the video shows; it's just a different way of accomplishing the same thing.

Oooo....That has me thinking.

Re: Video. I was amazed at the "Metal" tones he got out of this setup. No mud. Very clear. Looking forward to getting some.

I still would love to know what exactly Ren Wall does to the schallers to turn them into that kind of pickup. The Schallers are nice, but the HRW's are incredible. The Schallers always seem "hi fi" to me, and very clean and pristine. They are nice but don't have the character that the HRW's do.

HRWs sound awesome in semi-hollows (including my Millie DC), and you can do anything from jazz to hard rock with them in such a guitar. However, I didn't like them in my 157 when I installed a set. The neck pickup was okay in there, I guess, but the bridge pickup was way too trebly for that guitar. I think they need a guitar with less top end than most solid bodies have.
