602a Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Got this from Detroit and added Fralin Pure Pafs and just got a set of Faber Aged bridge with Brass saddles along with lightweight 59 Tailpiece. Going with the original ABR-1 Studs with it. This thing has the best neck I on any Heritage I've owned.
davesultra Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 That is one sick top! I like the G-style pickguard as well. I almost went with the Pure PAFs for my H-170. I went with the ThroBak ER-Customs instead. Congats on that one!
602a Posted November 22, 2014 Author Posted November 22, 2014 Thanks Dave, she plays like a dream. I'll add some new pictures when I'm finished
zookroo1 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 That's a real killer you've got on your hands. Nice upgrades!
indravayu Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Hey, I am also thinking about going with a Faber bridge and posts - can you tell me which model numbers you got? Faber's site is a little confusing for me.
602a Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 I'll let you know tomorrow when I get home
602a Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Well added the Faber System today and make a great difference to me. String ring more when unplugged and sustain is a bit better but no unwanted noise is the best thing.
DetroitBlues Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 Looks great, I'm glad you're happy with it.
rockabilly69 Posted November 27, 2014 Posted November 27, 2014 Did you buy that Faber with pre-grooved saddles? It looks like you did and then moved the e-string over. Why not file a little bit off of the saddles, reslot them and raise the bridge a bit, so you don't have the extra grooves? Wasn't it you who sold me this H150? I remember having to file it's Faber down, and it worked out great.
peterbright Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 I need to try one of those. Do they work well with a Bigsby?
rockabilly69 Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 I need to try one of those. Do they work well with a Bigsby? They are stable, but sometime Bigsbys work better with bridges that rock, that's why early gibsons had domed thumbwheels . I know that the Elliot Easton model Gibson Tiki Firebird incorporated thumb wheels into a Tone Pro nylon saddle ABR just so the Bigsby would work good. But personally I only like Bigsbys with Bar Bridges like on Gretsch guitars. I'm going to replace the roller bridge on my Gretsch to a bar bridge.
peterbright Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 I have always preferred roller bridges with Bigsbys
