brentrocks Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Well it certainly is everything it boasts. 2014 Heritage H157 LE black beauty. I bought this guitar used from Detroit Guitars, a small guitar shop in Birmingham Michigan. Detroit blues a.k.a. Josh was nice enough to offer to pick it up for me and then we met today to make an exchange. This guitar is everything that it promised. It is an all mahogany H157 with multiply binding on the body front and back pick guard and headstock. And what limited edition Heritage would be complete without a custom inlaid headstock for near displaying the number 9 out of 40 designation. It features gold hardware locking tone pro bridge until piece gold Grovers and custom shop Seymour Duncan P90 pickups. The neck is chunky to say the least. I haven't put a tape measure on the not yet but it almost feels like inch and three-quarter nut. I haven't had very much time to play this yet but I plan on plugging it into the Heritage Payriot amplifier after I get home from running some errands this afternoon. Thanks again to Josh for picking this up for me I really appreciate it. For now, here are some pictures. I should have a tone report later on.
Redsand Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Hell yeah Brent! Those guitars are truly special!
davesultra Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Looks great Brent! You'll love that staple neck pickup. I'm going to look at the control cavity on mine tonight, as I don't recall mine having those style tone caps in it. Mine has a black switch tip not gold like yours. I had contemplated moving mine because I hardly get around to playing it. Got about a good hour with it on Saturday, it's not going anywhere anytime soon.
Gitfiddler Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Wow, 5 layer binding on the headstock and body!! That is one elegant Black Beauty!! Congratulations, Brent. Play it in good health.
brentrocks Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Hey Dave. I replaced those caps as soon as I got it home. Lol
FredZepp Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Mmmmm.. bet it plays like butter. Stunning vintage recreation by Heritage. There is something special about a well done black beauty. It fits right in with the vintage style 137 beside it.
brentrocks Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Tone report coming as soon as I can get Deb back home from an afternoon movie and errands.
brentrocks Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 I'm thinking about putting a poker chip on it???
Beagle216 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I'm thinking about putting a poker chip on it??? Do it!!!!
brentrocks Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Do it!!!! I just think it would look good with the G style pick guard.
brentrocks Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 I now have GAS. Great looking guitar! You're welcome😃
brentrocks Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 I just realized something. I think that Pick Guard is made out of Ebony?
fxdx99 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Congrats, Brent - that is one classy guitar.
DetroitBlues Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I spent a little time with this Black Beauty on Friday night. I was too busy to use it yesterday and besides it's not my guitar to play with. It's a fantastic guitar, neck feels just like the 150 I recently departed with.

brentrocks Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Don't let Josh fool ya. He christened it in full form last night. He sent me a vid. He was tearing it up!!!
brentrocks Posted November 23, 2014 Author Posted November 23, 2014 Oh...dear.... Ummm... My oh my.... I mean.... Umm.... Oh.... Cat got your toungue? 😀
davesultra Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I'm thinking about putting a poker chip on it???I wouldn't. IMO a poker chip would make it look more like "G-brand" git.
peterbright Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Already available used? Who gave it up?
