DC Ron Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 So...I'd become a slave to the camera phone for a couple of years. Pics often turned out ok enough, but they often did not. I grew up with SLR's but no longer have the patience for the bulk, so decided to check out "compact" cameras.. Found one I like ok so far. The images in the "super dummy" mode are awesome. Here's an example. Gotta rake those leaves...
Gitfiddler Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 Ron~ Your Sweetie resting peacefully among the leaves is the perfect shot. Continue to point and shoot. ..and share.
DC Ron Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 Forgot to put in that it's a Panasonic DMC-LX7. Awesome Leica lens and lots of manual flexibility.

DC Ron Posted November 28, 2014 Author Posted November 28, 2014 Tell us more about the camera. The technical info is here so I'll focus (!) on the stuff that mattered most to me. It's compact and would easily fit in a jacket pocket, or a cargo pocket, but probably not a jeans pocket. At least not mine. Maybe it was the turkey. It's light and can be easily manipulated with one hand with the automatic modes I've been using. The quality of the pictures is quite excellent. In fact quality is so good that I'm looking back on my old pictures and frowning a lot. Wow, how was that ever ok? It has a manual lens cap on a lanyard, which I haven't gotten used to yet. Aftermarket automatic caps are available though. Doesn't have wifi but I'm ok with that. So far I'm really liking it...
