brentrocks Posted October 30, 2008 Posted October 30, 2008 After my last incident w/ a '88 H 150...I had my doubts! But this specimen was everything I had hoped. The top is incredible, and it is in really nice shape for a 20 yr old guitar. The gold hardware is a bit worn, but it gives it that classic look ;D actually i would prefer chrome...maybe someday i'll swapp it over?? it has '59's and was converted to Nashville hardware. it also sports a MOP logo, which is a nice touch. the frets are wide and low, the neck is straight and rosewood board shows some nice grain...don't know if it is Brazilian, prob not. it just got here, I plugged it in to make sure everything worked ok...it needs strings BAD!!!! hopefully will be able to get that done tonight. it had the orig Heritage case too ;D really nice Vintage (G style cutaway 150) for $900. I almost had a heart attack though...i saw what i though a crack on the back of the headstock, it was just a nitro check (not in the wood)...WWHHHEEEWW  http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/1988%20H%20150%20Cherry/P1010023.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/1988%20H%20150%20Cherry/P1010028.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/1988%20H%20150%20Cherry/P1010029.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/1988%20H%20150%20Cherry/P1010030.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/1988%20H%20150%20Cherry/P1010031.jpg[/img] http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y52/ebmmquilt/1988%20H%20150%20Cherry/P1010027.jpg[/img]

Kuz Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 Good catch Brent. And that one even looks good thrown in the grass. (Do you cut your lawn often so your house looks nice or so your back drop for your guitars is nice & tidy?) Here's to a keeper.
brentrocks Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 And that one even looks good thrown in the grass. (Do you cut your lawn often so your house looks nice or so your back drop for your guitars is nice & tidy?) i hate yardwork!!! i dont water my yard either (not paying for city water to grow that stuff ) i was wiping and polishing on it after playing today and i decided to take off the control plate and there was a sticker there H 150 ACB (round white sticker w/ black print). i was looking at the serial E30006....since 1988 was the 1st year for the H 150, that one was very early for the H 150s. March 6th 1988...it was probably one of the 1st 30 or so? i thought that was kind of cool.
mars_hall Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I thought the digits was the number of days remaining in the year. right? Oh, I see 300 days remaining and the 6th of the day. My bad
brentrocks Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 Oh, I see 300 days remaining and the 6th of the day. My bad 6 that day...it was a productive day ;D

peterbright Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 He shoots--he scores! Wow! An H150 for $900? Some people have all the luck! Now if it had P90's...
brentrocks Posted November 7, 2008 Author Posted November 7, 2008 Now if it had P90's... that could be cool....if only there was a way to put the wood back i wonder if there is a spacer plate you could put on to cover the hole and use dog-ears? THAT would be sweet!!!
peterbright Posted November 7, 2008 Posted November 7, 2008 Why hasn't someone come up with that mod?
jco.11 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Brent, still jonesing for chrome hardware? I've got the original Schaller stoptail and roller bridge with bushings, thumbwheel, and posts that came with my '98 H-150. I'm looking for some aged nickel G***** (I'm guessing you don't) hardware myself if you want a trade. If not, pm me if you have any interest in buying. I've got a couple of pics in my photobucket album. Thanks, jco.11 http://s284.photobucket.com/albums/ll17/jc...e%20H-150%20CM/
jco.11 Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 No doubt! The man expressed a thought, I'm presenting an option. I'll end up posting these in the general area, but figured I'd offer to Brent first as a thanks to him for his support during my recent transaction/fiasco.
