thorn Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Are these typically wired out of phase between the two pickups? (I don't remember from my high school electronics if that is called series or parallel so if someone could remind me of that too.) I guess my question may be pointless since there doesn't seem to be a "typical" with Heritage. I could just open the control cavity and look for myself but in this case, there is no control cavity.
davesultra Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 The H150 Ultra that I used to own had HRW pickups and it was wired normally. No out of phase stuff going on with that one.
Gitfiddler Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Heritage doesn't wire out of phase unless the customer requests that. I've owned 4 HRW loaded gits, and all were wired in phase. Their old Vari Phase option gave you all of those in between tones, but that required all of those fugly mini toggles.
thorn Posted December 5, 2014 Author Posted December 5, 2014 Okay. Thanks for the info. I can't quite get the tone I thought may have been an indication of a reverse wiring this morning that I got last night. I guess there may have been other factors involved late last night.
MartyGrass Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 HRWs require some adjustments to get them right. They are chimier than PAFs and are distinctive, somewhat Gretschy.
