Thundersteel Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 The Golden Eagle at Wolfe's listed at $6600 finally sold! http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDetai...px?Item=1823297 Someone got a REALLY nice axe. A little too much money for me, though. But if it would have had a flamed maple top, ...
brentrocks Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 i love the fact that it was a short scale...nice guitar...i'm sure the new owner will be very happy. i bet they didnt pay $6600
Thundersteel Posted October 31, 2008 Author Posted October 31, 2008 I'm guessing they paid somewhere around $5k. It IS a nice guitar, though!
Kuz Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 That guitar is stunning but I wonder if you spec'd out a 525 and told them to add the inlays, dark quilt back, tail piece, ect if it would cost half because it was a 525 and not a Golden Eagle? It looks more like the rim thickness of a 525 than an Archtop. I very content with my Plain Jane (yea, right??!) 525. 8) Photo6_8dda1-Original.jpg Photo6_8dda1-Original.jpg_thumb
tulk1 Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 I kinda like the way the creme pups are offset by the black rings. Very nice touch. Not sure it commands a $6k price tag, or a $5k even. But then again, I don't play jazz boxes. Maybe it does. Not all that fond of the back, either. Doesn't seem to actually go with the front color scheme. Still, that top and hardware combo is killer.
Gitfiddler Posted October 31, 2008 Posted October 31, 2008 That's the best Heritage 'eye candy' I've ever seen. No wonder it's been featured here so many times. Hopefully the owner of this very special Golden Eagle will pop in and give us a review.
