Steiner Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 My Victory Combo S/N is 4V0106001 It's the mystery from the mistaken, lake adjacent! 'Tis good to see the familiar Fleur-de-Lis. I had forgotten about this project. If others could present additional SNs, we could wrap this up.
Gitfiddler Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Since no thread about Heritage Amps is complete without the actual Heritage Amplification link (is this link now considered 'vintage'?) ... ...Here it is from the www.waybackmachine.com archives! Enjoy... http://web.archive.org/web/20081108021142/http:/www.heritageamplifiers.com/

Gitfiddler Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Victory combo off fee pay: SERIAL NUMBER: 4V0321005 Congratulations, Steiner! Please tell us about this N.A.D.
Steiner Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 'Twarn't mine Gitfiddler. Just a # I stole from the interweb. Did you notice that your Patriot amp's SN is the same as TalismanRich's Patriot AND rjsander's Britton II? I'm still having a tough time decoding these #s...
bsck1 Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 Yippee! I finally get to contribute to this post! 2P0225004 So do I have this right: 2nd revision, Patriot, Feb 25 2004, 4 unit of the day? Picked up this Patriot last week and am having a great time discovering it's wonderful tone. It's my first tube amp, replacing a Line 6 Spider Jam. Can you imagine the difference? Wow!
schundog Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Congratulations, Brian! Yeah, you stepped up a few notches, there, buddy! Enjoy it.
Steiner Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 Gee Haw! More happy NADs! That isn't a step up, it's a quantum leap forward - Congrats! Is the Patriot a head or combo?
bsck1 Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 Patriot Combo. I'm in proverbial seventh heaven.
Steiner Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 You have some of the most beautiful guitars to play through it. I'm sure you'd be in 8th heaven if they had one
Gitfiddler Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Victory combo off fee pay: SERIAL NUMBER: 4V0321005 OK, so I am weak! I couldn't help myself! Now I need to sell off my Blues Deluxe, '77 DR and '81 Concert amps to make room...
DC Ron Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 OK, so I am weak! I couldn't help myself! Now I need to sell off my Blues Deluxe, '77 DR and '81 Concert amps to make room... Geez, Tim, that's beautiful AND a great deal. CONGRATS!
Gitfiddler Posted March 25, 2015 Posted March 25, 2015 Geez, Tim, that's beautiful AND a great deal. CONGRATS! Thanks, Ron. That sweet, minty amp got no bids after being listed for 30 days...so I called the seller and made an offer. Next thing I knew, I had a NAD on the way. Gitfiddler Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Another obscure Heritage Amplification history tidbit: http://www.jedistar.com/jedistar%20amp%20dating_h.htm Heritage Amplifiers were handmade in Brentwood, Tennessee. No longer in production. Heritage Amplifiers of Tennessee was a guitar amplification company owned by Maclane Corporation Incorporated. The company was formed in January 2004 by Malcolm MacDonald and Lane Zastrow. Lane was a veteran of the music industry and a former Vice President of Sales and Marketing for the Gibson Guitar Company. Lane headed up the sales and marketing of the Heritage Guitar Company of Kalamazoo. The design team was headed by Paul Cochrane and cabinet design by Peter Mather. The line included amplifiers which range from producing warm, fat, American tones, to the classic "midrange" crunch of British valve amps. [source: Waybackmachine ] Models included The Colonial, The Briton, The Briton II, The Victory, The Kenny Burrell, The Liberty. Image Heritage Colonial amp:
Gitfiddler Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Are there any updates for our informal Heritage Amplifier Serial Number Registry? C'mon guys, give it up if you own any Heritage amp.

I thought perhaps the model iteration? The next character is indicative of the model. The next 4 numbers fit dates. The first two are always between 1 & 12 representing the month. The next two are between 1 & 31 indicating day of the month The next number is always a "0" perhaps a place for the number of decades the company has been viable? The last two are a riddle wrapped in an enigma: I want to believe there is a year indicator akin to Heritage Guitar's alpha year code where "0" indicates 2003 but I have no numbers greater than 3 which would suggest all the amps sampled were constructed between the years 2003 to 2006; not very likely given our sample size. The last digit I thought might be the nth amp built that day akin to Heritage Guitar's last serial digit. There is a "7" in this column, they were only functioning for six years so this cannot be the year code. Is there anything you see that I don't? I checked TGP, Reverb and feepay. Are there other serial #s out there?

Gitfiddler Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Nice work, Steiner! Here's a Colonial Head for sale on Ebay. No serial number listed however. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Heritage-Colonial-All-Tube-Hand-Wired-50-Watt-Guitar-Amplifier-Head-/301664195927?hash=item463c965557:g:pfUAAOSwk0pVgIE1 Heritage Victory on Gbase: https://www.gbase.com/gear/heritage-amplifiers-victory-1x12-green Heritage Briton on Gbase: https://www.gbase.com/gear/heritage-amplifiers-briton-2x12-black Hopefully other owners will chime in with their info.
Gitfiddler Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 For our more technically astute members, check out Paul Cochrane's amplifier selectable power supply Patent. https://www.google.com/patents/US7417502?hl=en&dq=ininventor:%22Paul+Cochrane%22 Publication number US7417502 B1 Publication type Grant Application number US 11/335,438 Publication date Aug 26, 2008 Filing date Jan 18, 2006 Priority date Jan 18, 2006 My take away was Paul's solution to bringing vintage tones to 21st century (Heritage) amplifiers.
Steiner Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 That's a great read Gitfiddler. It appears to be Cochrane's genius to bring out the various sounds on the Colonial. I also find it mildly ironic that three other powerhouses (Bad Cat Hot Cat 30, VHT Pitbull and Metropoulos '68 12000 Series Plexi) were cited in the patent. While most amps switch to a different circuit to achieve various sounds, Cochrane varied the transformer power on the same circuit. Eureka!
Gitfiddler Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Here are a couple more Heritage amp serial numbers to add to our growing list. These are owned by a friend of mine, (HOC member 'Floorshaker'). He also owns my former 150 Goldtop P90 gitfiddle. The Patriot is a standard reddish covered beast and the Liberty is a very cool looking aged tweed tone monster. Patriot combo: SN 2P0225001 Liberty head: SN 3L014001 Any more Heritage Amplifiers of Tennessee out there? Come on down!
Gitfiddler Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Correction: The Liberty head number is missing a digit. It should read as follows: SN 3L0104001 (Thanks, Greg!)
