ThroBak Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Pete Farmer stopped by the shop Friday to pickup more ThroBak pickups for some custom orders. Pete also brought a new H-150 with a ThroBak Dick Wagner signature set installed. What an amazing guitar! The finish, top, weight, feel of the neck and tone are exactly what you want from such an iconic design. I don't know who is getting this but he is one lucky S.O.B.! So cool to hold a guitar that is 100% Michigan made with a set of pickups that we made for the late, great Michigan native Dick Wagner.
FredZepp Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Excellent. An unbeatable combination... ThroBak pickups in a Heritage H-150. Love the pic... everybody happy and a nice shot of the custom H-150.... The stuff that GAS is made of.
Kuz Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Let's see.... 555 Custom (Throbak PG SLE 102s) 150 GT (Throbak SLE 101s) 150 Blur/Quilt (Throbak SLE 101s plus) Yea, I would say Heritage and Throbaks are a PERFECT match!!! Now it's time to look at getting some Throbak P-90s for my two Heritages with P90 pickups!!!
DetroitBlues Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Fantastic! Love bound headstocks on a H150!
fxdx99 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Candidate for post of the year comes early... Great pic of smiling Michigan craftsman showing their wares. The bound headstock sets that 150 off aesthetically, too. Have been intrigued on the 'Mystery Man' set since reading of them.
skydog52 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Thro-Baks are the bomb. Close to mine loaded with SLE-101 MXV Plus pickups.
Millennium Maestro Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Will ThroBak be at NAMM? That guitar looks like a marriage made in heaven!
bsck1 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 What a great picture and great testament for passion for real craftsmanship!
pressure Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Wowzers Fab 150. And a 170 with custom wound ThroBak p90s.
rockabilly69 Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Nice rig right there with some killer pickups! And a big shout out for Dick Wagner. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Wagner
ThroBak Posted January 21, 2015 Author Posted January 21, 2015 Will ThroBak be at NAMM? That guitar looks like a marriage made in heaven! I don't have a booth at NAMM but I sent one employees there to hand scout out new builder customers and such. Just a clarification on Pete's visit, Heritage periodically gets customers that custom order ThroBak's factory installed pickups and this was just the rare chance I got to see one before it went to the customer. There is not a "Pete" model H150, Pete was just kind enough to bring this great looking guitar in for me to see while he picked up some ThroBak parts for other Heritage guitars. But it is one sweet looking guitar and it confirms that Heritage, right now, is building guitars that are just flat out wonderful.
rjmajik Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 Nice rig right there with some killer pickups! And a big shout out for Dick Wagner. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Wagner I had the pleasure of seeing The Frost several times while growing up in the Detroit area.
bolero Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 how cool is that??!! great to see you guys, looking good. and what a guitar!! I need some P90's soon, plan to upgrade my 357 from stock so will be ordering THROBAKS yippee kay yay
C9Y Posted February 1, 2015 Posted February 1, 2015 I have Throbaks in my Heritages, and enjoy them both. Even had Brentrocks field-test them. Chris played the 137, too. I was able to have the boys put the PAFs in the 150, but for whatever reason, the P90s for the 137 I had to get separately from Jon and send to Parsons Street.
