boanerges Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 This is fun! I live in Europe, the 150 was sent from Wolfe Guitars on a Wednesday, and arrived at my door Thursday the week after, cleared in the customs and ready to play! That's even less time than it takes between most addresses in my country! I tested the guitar the day after arrival. This is a beautiful vintage burst 15CM with Seth Lovers (posted about it earlier, with links to pics on Wolfe Guitars' site), which Graham at Wolfe Guitars recommended to me by phone ("dear Graham, pick the 150 you'd want to bring to a gig"). I have to say, after playing a few Gibsons (57 reissue goldtop, LP Limited Edition): Man, this is a great instrument! You can tell by the sustain before you plug it in, and through a good amp (CAE OD 100 Classic, 59 RI Bassman) this delivers bucketloads of tone. The G's I've owned don't reach the kneecaps of this guitar. It's the first time ever I haven't missed my Strat during a gig -- this thing breathes in a way my Gibsons never did, and it delivers so good clean tones (although dirty is my main thing) that I didn't bother to reach for a single coil instrument. I'd have to mention Jay and Graham at Wolfe's as well: Thanks for the great service, I'll save up for a 535 and come back to you, hopefully soon.
Yankeefan01 Posted November 12, 2007 Posted November 12, 2007 We definitely need pics! That vintage burst on an H140/150 is the best! :uwp:
boanerges Posted November 12, 2007 Author Posted November 12, 2007 Ok. Does this work (attachment)? h150.JPG h150.JPG_thumb
boanerges Posted November 12, 2007 Author Posted November 12, 2007 Yeah, it did. Just click on it, and listen to the sustain! (Only pic I have, taken with my mobile phone. I'll make an album soon, which I'll give away to friends and family for christmas )
