A recording test with the mahogany H575 ... and I think I'm getting a lot closer

I've been struggling to find the right way to record the new long scale H575 and I think I may finally be getting close. It's a direct line out from the amp with the volume maxed on the guitar but turned way down on the amp and pre-amp. This is starting to get close to what I'm hearing in the room. If I could blend in a mic, I think I'd be even closer.

Great playing ! And man... the tone you get ... awesome.

Full , clear, precise, warm, woody, complex... so many adjectives could be applied to that sound clip.

It's the kind of tone that makes the guitar maker smile as they hear it and think.. it doesn't get much better than that !

Great Post... thanks.

Don't know what the sound is in your room that you are chasing but the tone sounds great coming out of my speakers.

Thanks guys. O'm on my own for the weekend so I'm planning on doing a bunch of playing, experimenting and recording. Hopefully I;ll have something a bit more complete to post when I'm done.

And Yooper, if you really want one like this you'll have to put in a special order. it have all sorts of custom features. The scale length is 25.5", the thickness at the rims is only 2 1/4". It's spruce over mahogany it has X-bracing and a big chunky mahogany neck (along with a bunch of small hardware features). The pickup is a DiMarzio 36th Anniversary PAF. And it is a GREAT guitar.

They should market it as the Jim Soloway signature!

Impeccable playing, as always, and the tone was exactly as Fred described it, so no need to expound further. Love that you post this stuff, Jim!
