barrymclark
I have a buddy that is quite an amp builder and it juuuuust so happens that he had an old Gibson GA19 that he picked up intending to rebuild but never did. For those that have been on here for a long time, you know that I am a HUGE fan of the old Gibson amps. So... if all things work out... the rebuilt and modified (somewhat) GA19 will be my 40th b-day present. Still waiting to see if it is the Tweed or Crestline version. That will give me some idea about what sort of speaker I can go for. If it is the Crestline, then I can likely get a Celestion Gold in there. yuominae
That's really cool! Vintage amps rock Can't wait to see the pics (I'm assuming you'll be posting some soon, right?).
barrymclark
I will post pictures as I have them for sure. This will likely be a process that takes several months as we trial and error options.
Dick Seacup
I'd like to snag one of the old Gibson Maestros (GA-79? Has vibrato and a pair of tens).
