DetroitBlues Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Parson street Good to see ya again! I thought the Parsons Street had a funky shaped headstock?
FredZepp Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 The headstock shape will depend on the year of manufacture. The 1989 catalog shows the Gumby headstock and the 1992 shows the conventional Heritage shape.
HANGAR18 Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I prefer the standard Heritage headstock over the Gumby headstock.
FredZepp Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 I prefer the standard Heritage headstock over the Gumby headstock. For me... a Parsons Street with the regular headstock instead of the Gumby just looks wrong. I think that's from years of ogling the one in the prototype room. The unique headstock had a real wow factor. And, of course, mine is a genuine Gumby version.... ha...

I'm not sure if I'd call it a "Wow" factor but maybe the "WTF" factor is more precise.

There is a classic look to that because of the scroll headstock design taken from F-type Mandolins.. its a rather inspirational headstock to me.
bolero Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I dig the Gumby headstock!! I thought of ordering a 357 with one
rockabilly69 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 I dig the Gumby headstock!! I thought of ordering a 357 with one Or a Flying V with one:)
FredZepp Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Or a Flying V with one:) now THAT would be cool...
DetroitBlues Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Or a Flying V with one:) Now that's a body shape I'm really surprised Heritage won't release. They have a stack of Gibby V bodies they could use. Put on a Heritage neck and we are good. I don't think Gibson has the body shape patented.
