JMick Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 My first Heritage guitar. Brand spanking new H157 in vintage wine burst. With SD 59s at neck and bridge, currently being played through a Swart STR-Dark Tweed and a Carol Ann HS-2 combo. Be jealous.
Ned Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Nice to see a 157 dressed in chrome (or nickel). Moderately jealous. Very nice guitar and some nice accessories too. Great way to start a heritage collection
JMick Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Thanks all! Nice to see a 157 dressed in chrome (or nickel). Moderately jealous. Very nice guitar and some nice accessories too. Great way to start a heritage collection Glad you appreciate that. Given that I wanted the dark vintage wine burst, I knew it would be wrong with anything other than black speed knobs and chrome hardware.
Vanschoyck Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Sure, I'm jealous. That really is a nice one; enjoy and HNGD!
Gitfiddler Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Nicely done! One piece top has some unique, yet subtle, quilt figuring going on. Play it in good health and welcome to the HOC.
TalismanRich Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 JMick, nice looking axe. You made a good choice (although I'm a fan of gold hardware). I still enjoy playing my 157, my first Heritage.
FredZepp Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Sweet 157 ! One of my favorite Heritage finishes... and nicely captured in that pic. I'm sure it sounds heavenly with those amps...
fxdx99 Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Nice pic of a beauty of a guitar. Like the top figure and finish. Congrats! Just a note - the G string saddle seems forward towards the neck more than I'd guess. Maybe a slight adjustment for intonation?
JMick Posted February 17, 2015 Author Posted February 17, 2015 Thanks all. It plays beautifully. Nice pic of a beauty of a guitar. Like the top figure and finish. Congrats! Just a note - the G string saddle seems forward towards the neck more than I'd guess. Maybe a slight adjustment for intonation? Man, that's a good eye! What you're seeing in that picture is how the guitar arrived when originally shipped from the dealer. Since that picture was taken, I have had it set up at a local shop. Cheers.
barrymclark Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 I really dig what appears to be a light figuring on the top. I love subtlety.
Steiner Posted February 18, 2015 Posted February 18, 2015 Nice 157 snatch! That's a beautiful (1 piece?) cap on her. Play her in good health!
JMick Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 I really dig what appears to be a light figuring on the top. I love subtlety. Thanks, I've been told it's called "quilting," and I dig it too. Nice 157 snatch! That's a beautiful (1 piece?) cap on her. Play her in good health! I appreciate it, though I must ask, does it count as a "snatch" if I placed the custom order to Heritage myself and waited two months?? Haha
JMick Posted February 21, 2015 Author Posted February 21, 2015 Also, not sure if it's a 1 piece cap. I didn't specify that in the order so I'd have to assume it isn't unless someone tells me otherwise.
bolero Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 oh yeah, that is a nice one allright! congrats!
rockabilly69 Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 Also, not sure if it's a 1 piece cap. I didn't specify that in the order so I'd have to assume it isn't unless someone tells me otherwise. Looks one piece to me, I don't see a center seam.
TheHeritageFan Posted February 23, 2015 Posted February 23, 2015 This looks to be an excellent guitar. I feel the chrome hardware was an excellent choice. Congratulations.
Quietflame Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 A lot of jealous comments. Great guitar. Congrats!
