HOC Portal Redirecting to Porn Site! Yikes!

Lately, if I log onto the HOC vial the HOC Portal, (using Google browser, not Firefox), I get redirected to an adult porn site. The first time it happened I was chatting with my wife and surfing the net on my iPad at the same time. When the scantily clad young woman's picture popped up, I think I screamed louder than my wife!!

The same redirect occurred from my work laptop, but ONLY when using the Google browser. What's up?!!

Just logged in with Chrome and no redirect on my PC. Could be one of many redirect viruses but didn't know iPads could do that. Sorry can't be of more help. Good luck!

Is it Swedish?

Is there room at your next seminar when you teach this?

Couldn't tell if she was Swedish. They all look like sisters to me.

My seminars could use some spicing up...but not THAT spicy!

Dammit!! I never win. How exactly did you log into the porn?

Keep trying. It's kind of like the lottery...only with better odds.

Just managed to get onto this forum again after a couple of months. My computer security system (Avast) just throws

up a malware warning and refuses access onto this site when going through portal, and I've only just found out that I

can get access but only through going into Forums.

Hello again everyone!!

I was getting that too, I didn't know what to think at first. I've since saved the Forums page on my favorites, so I never see the portal page anymore.

I *always* get directed to an error page, then I re-load the request and it finally gets me here (using Mozilla Firefox for browser). It tells me I need a certain plugin but when I check, my plugins are always up to date. So I never click on their offers for more software, I figure it's a Trojan or something - which would go along with what Guitfiddler's saying! :D

It takes me to some info page with amazon ads and occasionally to bikini clad ladies. So its not all bad.

I just go back to the google search page and reload HOC. Second time always gets me to the HOC

I haven't had the problem. Maybe it's that I'm using Firefox. Or perhaps it has to do with the privacy extensions I've installed: Bluehell Firewall, and Ghostery.

I use firefox and at work internet explorer.

I never use Google to get to the HOC. I've got a personal home page with links to the placed I frequent. It takes me directly to the HOC without Google watching me. As such, I never get redirected.

That goes for both Chrome and Firefox.

I'm liking the Ghostery extension, it's blocking these six trackers on this page:

Facebook Connect
Widgets, Social
Google Analytics
Analytics, Analytics
Google+ Platform
Widgets, Social
Gravatar
Widgets
Twitter Button
Widgets, Social
VigLink
Advertising, In-Text ads

That VigLink one is a part of the Tapatalk (or maybe it's Forum Runner) plugin. It was stealthily included in one of the updates and it's a right PITA. I believe it's been disabled on the Taptalk (or maybe it's Forum Runner) control panel (on their site), but yet...

Not that I, uh, know anything about it. :dontknow:

Funny, but that one isn't showing up on this page now.
