mark555
I am relatively new to using pedals and use three plus a floor tuner. I was trying to use a Marshall reverb pedal yesterday at rehearsal and even though the power light was showing, I could not get any use from it. The pedal has not been dropped or mishandled since I used it the week before. The only difference was that I powered it from the mains rather than a battery. I know this might sound a stupid question, but could the fact that there was a used up battery still in the pedal cause it not to work? Any suggestions? bobmeyrick
Wouldn't have thought so. Try taking out the dead battery and see if it makes a difference.
mark555
I have found out what the problem is. All the other pedlas I use are low milli amp, while the Marshall Pedal needs more power than the power supply can feed, so it needs a better power supply. Will be buying a Boss power supply tomorrow. rockabilly69
If you plan on using pedals on a board over the long haul, you should really consider the Pedal Power II by Voodoo Labs. It's probably on more pedal boards than any other power supply for good reason! It has ample current for pretty much everything except the most demanding digital modeler style pedals, and each outlet is regulated and isolated. You would be amazed at how well this power supply does the job. The noise floor (ie hum) goes down considerably! http://www.amazon.co.uk/VOODOO-LAB-effect-accessories-Accessories/dp/B0002IHGZC
gpuma
If you don't plan to expand the number of pedals too much you might get away with the Iso5 from voodoolab and save few bucks
mark555
Danial, I didn't have the budget to buy the one you suggested, although I can see it is an excellent unit. I did buy the Boss one in the end, it works well and powers up to five units. As I only use four and currently have no need for any more. It does the job well. Many thanks for the input though. rockabilly69
Boss makes quality products and as long as it meets the voltage/amperage requirements it should be fine.
