Gitfiddler Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 Aside from the gorgeous wood and lustrous finishes Heritage uses, I'm so amazed at how they build some of their instruments. Check out this Millie. Its got a Mahogany back/sides, chambered interior, binding everywhere,Ebony board, solid flame maple top, etc., etc.!! That would cost on the high side of $6k if the headstock said Gibson!!!
2bornot2bop Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 Yeah.. we love the guitars and how they are crafted. But sometimes it's the fine woods that Heritage sources that makes the difference. These are just some recent pics taken with a phone camera, but in some cases it captured the beauty of these unique woods. The Centurion... Rub it in Fred. Rub it in!
2bornot2bop Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 2b is jonesin' for a pair of SE's in SB actually.
Gitfiddler Posted July 30, 2015 Posted July 30, 2015 2b is jonesin' for a pair of SE's in SB actually. Hold the phone!! Are those ultra rare, single pickup SE's?? If so, I'll take the one on the right with the set-in p'up.
2bornot2bop Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 Hold the phone!! Are those ultra rare, single pickup SE's?? If so, I'll take the one on the right with the set-in p'up. They're both "available." The one on the right was spec'd right. It's 3.25 in depth. DiMarzio PAF. Extra WBW binding around the f-hole. And in spite of having a routed humbucker in the top she's got very respectable acoustic volume. She's really like having 2 archtops in 1. And upgraded woods. Here's the back.
2bornot2bop Posted July 31, 2015 Posted July 31, 2015 btw, the floating pup SE is quite possibly the "first" acoustic electric Super Eagle produced. It was commissioned by Tom Van Hoose, who you of course know as author of the famed "The Super 400 book." The pup is a BJB, which was the pup of choice requested by Thom during the build. TVH went so far to write about this SE , and include the below photo, on page 134 of his Super 400 book. Here's the photo of the SE from the book:
onurarslan Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 Does a pickguard count? That's all i have that shows wood.
DetroitBlues Posted August 14, 2015 Posted August 14, 2015 From 1985... Listed as a 140, but more of a 147 Custom... Beat that monster ONE-PIECE top!

Gitfiddler Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 No thread about Heritage wood is complete without commenting on their amazingly beautiful and unique, signature wood pick guards. [/img]
TalismanRich Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 The wooden guards are so nice. Its a shame they are going to special order, but it would be on the ticket if I ever order another one!
FredZepp Posted September 6, 2015 Author Posted September 6, 2015 2014 H-150 CM Wow.. that 2014 is super nice.... nice piece of eastern maple for the top.
RhoadsScholar Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 This Millie has a lot going on flame, mineral streaks, a thing of beauty. And it sounds great too
Polo Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Good eyes Fred Zepp! That maple top actually came out of northern Michigan. Heritage has been bringing in a lot of great in-state tops over the last few years. This one turned out wonderful a d I couldn't be happier with either the flame or the finish.
Gianluca Posted September 9, 2015 Posted September 9, 2015 Sometimes a Heritage has stunning wood that doesn't show extensive figuring , but is beautiful to behold none the less. what's this guitar? No.31205 of what model?
