HeyGrampa Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Hi, This is my first post. I'm very close to purchasing my first Heritage guitar, H-530. I'm having difficulty obtaining a few key specs. What type of truss rod is used, two-way? What are the neck dimensions and nut width? Is the neck attached with a long tenon? Thank you
skydog52 Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Your dealer should help you out with that. Some of your own specs can be ordered your way.
mars_hall Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Look in the gallery under the PSPs. There are shots there of 530s taken in construction
DetroitBlues Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 I just placed a custom order myself... While I did not specify a nut width (I believe its a standard size for the solid and semi-hollow bodies), I did specify everything else on my 535: Bound MOP Inlay Headstock (Extra Cost) Bound Neck (Standard) Long Tenon (Standard feature) Small/Short Heel (Custom Request) Neck Size is slighly larger than a R9 (.9" at nut, 1.0" at 12th Fret) Flame Maple Top Cherry Red (upgrade finish) Seth Lover Pickups (upgrade from 59's.) Now a friend of mine on here a few years ago ordered the most insane H-157 ever concived... 5 Piece Flame Maple Neck Fat R8 plus size profile (Actually went to the factory to have it custom fit to his hand preference) AAAAA Flame Maple Top One-Piece Back Seagull Wings on end of Fretboard Split Block Inlays Custom Wiring Config. Gold Hardware I may have missed a few details, but it was the most extreme, yet beautiful 157 I've ever seen....
DetroitBlues Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 "Seagul wings" really Josh! It's called a Cupid's bow. I debated going back and forth with the term... I settled on Seagul wings...
ironmike Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 how much would a guitar like that cost me ?that box is beautiful, 25 1/2" scale i assume, that's what i'd want .any idea of the finished price?
Kuz Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 how much would a guitar like that cost me ?that box is beautiful, 25 1/2" scale i assume, that's what i'd want .any idea of the finished price? All solidbodies, including the 157, would be 24 3/4" (short scale length), unless you custom ordered a long scale 25.5" (I am not sure if they would even agree to a long scale on a solidbody).

You'll have to talk to a dealer for an exact quote. 150 are around $2500 give or take a couple hundred. That one I believe was more than $3500 because of all the upgrades....
212Mavguy Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Actually DB, that particular 157 has a quilted maple top. The tone is brighter and more detailed than most 150/157/LP types, I think that is from the neck wood and pickup choices. Sustain is fantastic, locking Tonepros bridge and tailpiece. It would actually work pretty well for a country style player. Best for other uses when paired with a slightly dark sounding amp.
tbonesullivan Posted May 5, 2015 Posted May 5, 2015 Can a 530 or 535 even come with a "short" tenon? I don't think I've seen a picture of a 535 where the tenon didn't extend half-way into the neck pickup routing.

I remember playing it at Brian's house a few times. Heavy guitar, I swear it felt like 15 pounds. Pickups sounded great. Never had a chance to play it through a dark tone amp like a Marshall type amp, Brian was busy making all sorts of Fender clones at the time so that's all he had. The Lollar pickups were custom ordered. There was a couple things I think I would of changed, such as how the wiring configuration worked. I don't think I'd ordered it with the middle pickup either because I remember I kept hearing a click when I played it because my pick was striking the middle pickup frequently. I helped Brian come up with some of those wild ideas he had. I think the Cupids Bow was my idea. Whoever own it now has a show piece guitar. Heritage should make another and take it guitar shows. That was a killer guitar unlike anything anyone has ever made.
