RhoadsScholar Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 My small club combo. No pedals just the cranked up blues sounds. Always thought the p-90s in a 150 through a cranked up champ was a match made in heaven. Good stuff
Gitfiddler Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 Thanks. It has two 10" Eminence legends in it. The cab is all pine (formerly paneling I my old house) including the baffle board. It is also extra deep, 11.5", for a little better low end. The amp screams now and is loud enough to be used unmic'd in small clubs with a drummer that is aware of his volume. Badass little Champ combo you've got there! Are the speakers wired at 4 ohm?
zguitar71 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Badass little Champ combo you've got there! Are the speakers wired at 4 ohm? Yes, they are 8 ohm speakers wired for four. They really brought the db up from the original set up. Now it is loud. I have thought about making a speaker cab with very effecient speakers for bigger clubs. The legends are 97db, a set of speaker in the 102db range would be great.
Millennium Maestro Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Yep, changed the Lollar p90s to Wolfetone "mean" neck p90 and bridge "meaner" p90. It was a tremendous improvement, and not just the bridge. The neck has more body and is more alive. The wolf p90s have more overtones and 3D depth!!! And after selling my Lollar P90s I think the conversion cost me like $45. Well worth it for me. Thanks for the advise, I think this is my next Mod.
