sergio200 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Hi everybody, it's my first time here and I'd like to introduce my new H 150. Bought a week ago, it came to join its big sister, a H 535, here in Belgium (excuse my imprecise english..). It has a walnut back and this gives it a feature that I like a lot because it's not so common. I think the tone is near mahogany with a bit of brightness that I enjoy. The pickups are Voodoo '59s, great sounds !
JeffB Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Nice courtyard Nice H150. I think that is one of my favourite finishes.
DetroitBlues Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 interesting... Walnut back? That might be future in guitars as a sustainable wood source. Congrats, she's a beauty!
tulk1 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 The Tulip tuners are a nice touch. Good looking guitar right there!
onurarslan Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Looks really nice. How did they get the walnut body and mahogany neck look so similar. Walnut is a dark colored wood but doesn't look that much like mahogany, right?
sergio200 Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 The neck is walnut too, I didn't mention...
Gitfiddler Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 The neck is walnut too, I didn't mention... Walnut back and neck? Nice touch! Beautiful guitar! How's the weight?
onurarslan Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Oh, it's all walnut. Interesting. She sure has a nice top and finish.
myoldfriend Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Beautiful instrument - enjoy! Did you custom order with walnut or just come across the H150 already built this way? Would be very interested in hearing what you find appealing about walnut (vs mahogany, for instance) in a guitar.
Gianluca Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 welcome nice looking guitar and intersting specs good choices
Spectrum13 Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Walnut back and neck?; Nice touch! Beautiful guitar! How's the weight? Over 3 months? Was the Walnut supplied by Heritage or did you source it>
sergio200 Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 It weighs 9.48 lbs that is not very light but not too heavy either. It was already built with walnut and the reason why I felt in love with it is I like walnut very much, it's a very beautiful wood not very common for electric guitars while it sounds almost like mahogany, being a bit aggressive, incisive. Round and spicy (think Gary Moore..).
FredZepp Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Beautiful 150 ... congratulations on the new Heritage. Do you have a photo of the label , that may tell us more about it? ...
Millennium Maestro Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 I don't believe the guitar is actually walnut wood construction, Heritage has a Walnut stain finish they use on back, sides and necks. I have an excellent example of a Goldtop with this upgrade. I also believe Heritage has never used the actual Walnut wood in a guitar! What a beauty! PS. What tuners are on the Hottie!?

I sort of thought the same, but I've never seen Walnut finished before on a guitar, so it makes me wonder....
sergio200 Posted August 12, 2015 Author Posted August 12, 2015 The label will not help because it's not the good one, there was a error .... I didn't see it, no luck..
DetroitBlues Posted August 13, 2015 Posted August 13, 2015 It's common for Walnut finished, but not actual wood.
myoldfriend Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 That does make a lot of sense - the (guitar back) wood in the pictures is good looking no doubt, just seems to be quite red and without typical figure for walnut...
