ch99 Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 I am new to humbuckers...is there a way to ID the Schallers, HRW, Seth Lovers, etc., other than opening them up? I am looking at photos of a Heritage 575, from late 2002, and it has pups with the two screws on each side. I think most pics of the HRWs show two screws, but I am no expert; maybe others pups use two as well?
ch99 Posted November 13, 2008 Author Posted November 13, 2008 OK, just answered my question...read elsewhere on the forum that Schallers have the double screws too. Hmmm
SouthpawGuy Posted November 13, 2008 Posted November 13, 2008 Usually the HRWs have the switch tip in the opposite colour i.e. a black switch tip has a white dot on top and a white one a black dot. SouthpawGuy Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 Forgot to mention ... If you are in contact with a seller you could ask them to take a close look inside the f-hole with the label in it, it often has the pickup model written on it along with the finish. For example "59s" would indicate Duncan '59s. The Schallers usually have a total of 4 screws per pickup, 2 each side, Duncans normally have a total of two per pickup ... one each side. Hope this helps.
Thundersteel Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 If it's listed as a "Classic" model, then it will have the Seymour-Duncan pickups in it, either the '59s or Seth Lovers.
