thejumpcat Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 I am not a Heritage owner. I just joined today because my friend knows that I play guitar and bass and know a bit about instruments. I found this site on a Google search. He has a Heritage he wants to sell but has no idea what it is worth. Judging from the serial number info here, it appears to be a 1998 (SN: O16403). He said it's a "Roy Clark amber hollowbody". It's been a long time since I've seen and played it, but I'm pretty sure it's a double-cutaway and the pickguard is wood (not plastic). He does have the case, too. I asked him to take some photos, including one through the F hole if there is a label in there. It was given to him as a gift by his father-in-law for graduating college. He didn't play guitar and never learned how to. He might have taken a lesson or two. He NEVER played it. I think I played it twice when I visited him, and that's the most this guitar ever got played. It's literally been in a case in a closet or under a bed for the last 17 or so years. So, how does he go about determining a fair price to ask for it. Thanks!
DOGBOY Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 You said it, post the photos you'll get a good idea from the people here.

DC Ron Posted September 18, 2015 Posted September 18, 2015 Agree the RC is a great model. Pretty guitar.
thejumpcat Posted September 18, 2015 Author Posted September 18, 2015 So, what should I do to try and figure out a price to sell this for?
HANGAR18 Posted September 19, 2015 Posted September 19, 2015 So, what should I do to try and figure out a price to sell this for? Research. See what they are selling for on ebay. Try to find the MRSP and then ask for 50% of that as a used guitar. Or just start out asking for $1800.00 and see how fast people jump at it. Of course a proper ad with photos and description will be important and ultimately, supply & demand will be the ultimate factors. A Roy Clark is on my wish list but I'm not really in a position to buy one right now.
thejumpcat Posted September 19, 2015 Author Posted September 19, 2015 I've only seen this one on ebay. I think it's the same model. http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/291550412612?ul_noapp=true&chn=ps&lpid=82 None for sale on Reverb.com.
