mars_hall Posted August 30, 2015 Posted August 30, 2015 The guitar has definitely been played quite a bit. I have an Andy Timmons AT-1 (DP224) in the bridge, the stock Schaller in mid, and a Cruiser (DP186) in the neck. I have the original whammy arm, but I don't use it so I take it off and out of the way. I was once told 17 were made.
DucRyder Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 I was once told 17 were made. Any reason so few? seems like it would've been popular...
DucRyder Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 I wonder how many of the 17 DLX are here on the HOC? A member has this red beauty in his collection on the site.... http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/uploads/collections_images/image_url-19746-1422187018.jpg http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/uploads/collections_images/image_url-19746-1422186942.jpg
DucRyder Posted August 30, 2015 Author Posted August 30, 2015 Here's a Kahler equipped DLX in Amber seen on the gear page.... http://i1171.photobucket.com/albums/r558/giopuma/P1030967_zps409c3940.jpg
DucRyder Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 Here's another Amber on eBay..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1988-Heritage-STAT-Super-Strat-Amber-Finish-w-Kahler-2710-Guitar-grlc1576-/291551733709?hash=item43e1d667cd
DucRyder Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 I've been looking around the net for STAT DLX info and it appears they all are 1988 "E" code. Mine is a 1989 "F" code.... I wonder if it was done as a single rack run in mid-late 1988 into 1989?
mars_hall Posted August 31, 2015 Posted August 31, 2015 Subtract the day from the sequence in the Serial Number to see if it is early or late in the year
DucRyder Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 F186xx.... so 365-186= 179th day of 1989 approx June 29, 1989
DucRyder Posted August 31, 2015 Author Posted August 31, 2015 After checking the serial number on the ebay guitar and the two serial numbers I could find in the "gallery" area here, my theory doesn't hold much water. It still appears the DLX are 88-89 but trickled out one at a time. Maybe the DLX was special order only? I don't see it offered in the catalog with the base model STAT. http://www.heritageownersclub.com/forums/topic/23767-catalog-of-discontinued-heritage-models/
pressure Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 Ok, put images of my H160v on Photobucket.
bolero Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 nice axes! I have a VIP neck that will be mated to a project guitar...maybe a Jazzmaster with Filtertrons
Alex94706 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Daves, are those toggle switch bats original on your Stat? I'd love something like that on mine. My 87 Stat ASB: The bridge pickup is a Fender Atomic Humbucker in zebra. When I got the guitar it had an ugly Carvin in there - don't like the black-on-black polepiece/bobbin combination. The Atomic works great in this guitar - sounds very like a Duncan JB, and is wound high enough to combine well with those Schaller singles in split-coil mode. I love my STAT. I don't see it ever going away even with a skinny neck.
holyroller Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 Wow !! I would love to have that green one !! Any more pics ?

holyroller Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 Wish I could find one of these but with a Floyd rose.i had a standard
holyroller Posted September 21, 2015 Posted September 21, 2015 This is really nice !! Here is my other one
DucRyder Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 The DLX have the Kahler Spyder which is a floyd lic. trem.... pretty similar if not better than a Floyd. The Kahler Steeler is almost exact copy of the Floyd Rose, but the Spyder has more mass (sustain) and still has the floyd lic. saddles. Wish I could find one of these but with a Floyd rose.i had a standard
DucRyder Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 There's a DLX on ebay Wow these are really hard to find !!!
big bob Posted September 22, 2015 Posted September 22, 2015 T The DLX have the Kahler Spyder which is a floyd lic. trem.... pretty similar if not better than a Floyd. The Kahler Steeler is almost exact copy of the Floyd Rose, but the Spyder has more mass (sustain) and still has the floyd lic. saddles. If you look real hard for a long time you might find one in hard tail.
