Case for a 140 and a 170

I picked up a 140 and a 170 but alas, neither had a case. I use gig bags usually, but sometimes I do need a case. I have not checked out Heritage for cases as usually these say heritage on them but cost more than they should. Any ideas on what kind of case for either guitar? Do you think a 170 would fit in the same size case as a 140?

Consider checking with Jay Wolfe. He sells the Heritage cases plus a number of other options, and he knows the guitars and what cases will fit which guitar.

No, you can't fit both in the same case. You'd need a separate one for each.

Seriously though, yes they fit in the same style of case/s. I believe that Heritage uses the same case type for 137/140/150/157/170s'.

Wolfe Guitars Jay is probably the largest Heritage Dealer .... period. He's been an advocate of Heritage longer than anyone I've known. He's been very integral in the development of several models/mods. And just a really nice guy, besides.

 

I'd think an Epi LP case would fit. Just thinking of the longer headstock needed for some Heritages.

a H-140 and a H-150 have the same fit BUT the H-140 has a slim body... When I get new guitars they are a very snug fit as the case adjusts to the guitar size. Standard LP dimension case will work, buy it new.

The H-170 has a slightly different body shape and will slide up and down in a case that has housed a H-150, but may work in a new LP sized case that has not adjusted to a guitar before.

 

If you are working on the budget... Order an affordable generic LP fit case, when it comes in see how it fits both.

I did something similar. This was an Ibanez case. I painted over the logo and did a reto flight case stencil. FredZepp has this now.
