Polo Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Agreed. The double creme look here has inspired me to seek and create a beauty like this of my own. Congrats and thanks!
golferwave Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 So an update guys. I went with cts 500k pots with orange drop caps, 15 & 22. For the pickups, went with the DiMarzio 36th anniversary open coil cremes, wired the same way the Schallers were. Added a toggle selector ring for a bit of dressing up. This baby is totally transformed, love these DiMarzios. Pretty darn cheap for such a great sounding pickup set. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Way to go! Sounds like you have the tone you want for a reasonable price!
HANGAR18 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 That's a beautiful burst! Nothing wrong with Schallers but nearly everyone changes them out for something different. Glad you are enjoying the DiMarzio pickups!
ElNumero Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Very nice axe Aces! My first 150, which I still have, is Schaller equipped and I plan to keep them in there, if not for any other reason that they are no longer available! And they sound just fine IMO.
holyroller Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 Wow great advice on the pots. Is it hard To Upgrade the electronics ? Soldering? Sweet looking h150 by the way . Welcome to the freindlyes guitar site.
Aceshigh3r Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 Thanks for all the warm welcomes guys! Holyroller: it wasn't too hard for a novice like myself to swap the pots/caps/pickups. Just requires time and patience. A lot of patience! I'll be hanging onto the original pickups, so it can be made stock again should the need arise.
