pressure Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Just picked up the Heritage Prospect that was seen at PSP8 in the raw wood. Well its not raw anymore. Custom Heritage Prospect in Vintage Orange; Ebony headstock with Eagle inlay, Gold Sperzel tuners, Tom Doyle gold pickups, Graphtech Rezomax gold bridge, Sitka Spruce top, Quilted Bigleaf Maple back, Ebony fingerboard with 4mm pearl markers, Ebony Johnny Smith pickguard, 5 piece neck, Transparent stinger, Multi-ply binding on the front and back, Nibs cut off, yes thats right NO NIBS.
DetroitBlues Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 My GAWD! That is beautiful. I assume since its a Spruce top, there is no carve to the top?
Blunote Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Very classy looking guitar. I've never seen a trans black stinger before. The three piece neck makes it look even better. If I ever order a custom guitar from Heritage, you can bet that will be part of the spec. Question: how does the spruce top affect the guitar's tone? Does it give the guitar a more acoustic personality?
FredZepp Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Well... that one turned out exceptional. The headstock inlay , the stinger , the finish, the quilted back and spruce top, the five piece neck... all come together to make a very special instrument. I think you've got this custom order thing down pretty good... keep at it..
Polo Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 ......and that's how you do it!!!!!! Awesome build, very very nice!
Gitfiddler Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 WOW!!! That gitfiddle POPS!!! Well done!
Kuz Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Richard, that guitar is GORGEOUS and PERFECT in EVERYWAY. There really is nothing more to say.
pressure Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 The guitar is completely flat. It's very good acoustically and the pickups are powerful. I picked it up last night at didn't get home until 8:00pm. I will fool with it today (pickup heights and things). Thanks for the kind words but once again it's all up to those Fab Heritage guitar makers. We are sooooo lucky.
davesultra Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Congrats on that one Richard, to echo Bluenote, that's a very classy looking axe!
golferwave Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 So nice! I really dig the 5 piece neck and the stinger ... Enjoy!
tbonesullivan Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 NOOOOO NOT THE NIBS!!!! Anyway, that is one AWESOME looking build. How is the sitka spruce top? In that configuration it reminds me somewhat of a Hamer Newport, which has a spruce top and routed out single piece 'hog body.
bsck1 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Richard, It's rare the the backside view comes even close to the front. In this case, it's a knockout no matter how one glances at this beauty! Congratulations. Enjoy!!!!!!
kidsmoke Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 you've outdone yourself. Beautiful. Is there something funny happening with those knobs or is that just the sunlight?
DavesNotHere Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Fantastic! That's a stinger even I could love. How did the do that?
Vanschoyck Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Holy frijole! That is magnificent. You really have a gift of vision for custom orders that will work.
DetroitBlues Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 you've outdone yourself. Beautiful. Is there something funny happening with those knobs or is that just the sunlight? Appears to be Witch Hat knobs...
DavesNotHere Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Fantastic! That's a stinger even I could love. How did they do that?
LK155 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Richard, that guitar is GORGEOUS and PERFECT in EVERYWAY. There really is nothing more to say. John's right. So I'll say no more.
TalismanRich Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 You've got nice taste. LOVE the 5 piece neck, and that back is STUNNING!
skydog52 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Congratulations Richard. What a Beauty! That backside is over the top.
pressure Posted September 2, 2015 Author Posted September 2, 2015 Kip theres nothing wrong with my knobs. Tbone I had a Hamer Newport 90 and traded it in for a Mesa King Snake amp March 2014. All my Heritage guitars have Spruce, I like Spruce. Dave I don't know how they do the transparent stinger. This is the 2nd guitar they made for me with a transparent stinger (it would have been the 3rd but you can't think of everything, I live and learn) and the best stinger, they really got it right. Sorry it took so long for me to respond but I've been playing guitar.
Spectrum13 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 Richard I was wondering when that was finished. Outstanding and impossable to top. Having said that, since you are starting to get the hang of this custom design thing, what's your next build?
tulk1 Posted September 2, 2015 Posted September 2, 2015 It's very orange. Love the neck and the headstock treatment. Welcome to the Custom Prospect Club. My fav Heritage, in case I've never mentioned that before.
