guycalleddave Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 It looks like the b3 would work but the b7 is supposedly "better"? It seems like they come out of the factory with b7s. Does it kill resale value that much? Currently have 1400 into it.
DetroitBlues Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 Use a Vibramate and don't worry about resale... However, the B7 is meant for bigger body archtops and a B3 is meant for the thinner semi-hollow and hollow bodies
Polo Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 I've got a B7 on a Prospect, works great and would surely fit a H530.
big bob Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 When selecting a bigsby the important question is, what type of downforce do you need? On a traditional archtop guitar the bridge is a floating one, you know a wood dude that sits high in the air. With this type of bridge there is no need for additional down force to keep the strings in the string slots, so you can go with a b3, or a b6. However if your guitar has a sleek low slung bridge, one that is slammed down to the body for a low fast action, then you will need to add downforce to keep the strings from popping out of the string slots on big, wild, bends.... Thus the roller bar, b5, b7.... So the question is... Do you need a roller bar or not?
guycalleddave Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 So a b7 works based on a YouTube video and the b3 will work based on a 2011 forum post I found. Is one better than the other? I've never actually used or had one before? I do think it would look awesome on this guitar and I really could use more weight at the tail as the guitar won't really stay balanced around my neck.
Gitfiddler Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 The B7 looks great on this H530 and similarly thinline Prospect/Blues Deluxe. http://www.gbase.com/gear/heritage-h-530-2011-translucent-blue http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Heritage-Custom-Shop-Prospect-Blues-Deluxe-Guitar-/252079846488?hash=item3ab1213458
Polo Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Here's a pic of my 2014 Prospect CM with a B7. Since the install was completely non-invasive for a B7, I don't believe any loss of resale value has occurred.

You have almost no break angle on the bridge, do the strings stay in the saddles when you play aggressive?
Polo Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Hey Big Bob, It's def a B7 but yes the strings will pop out of the saddles of I dig in. Doesn't bother me much considering that I don't use pics. -Party on Wayne
Polo Posted September 7, 2015 Posted September 7, 2015 Correction: After further review...It's definitely a B3 as Big Bob suggested. Not sure why I'd dispute Bigsby facts with the resident Bigsby authority but none the less....It's a workin for me. -continue to party on Wayne.
guycalleddave Posted September 7, 2015 Author Posted September 7, 2015 I think I'd be happy with the b7 as well when I take resale out of it. Question though. There are 2 B7s listed on amazon. One for 120 and one for 180. Doesn't look too be a b70 or b700. Anyone have an idea what that's about https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004DR3MTM/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_goE7vb0VWD2HG Vs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001NIC6X2/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_cqE7vbQ6JQHHB
guycalleddave Posted September 22, 2015 Author Posted September 22, 2015 went with the b7. Elderly is installing it for 96.00 bucks. Musican's friend matched the price of 120.00 good times.
