Stringman Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Gang: Has anyone ever added acoustic tones to their Hollow/Semi Hollow Heritage guitar before? I'd like to have the option with my H-576 to play "acoustic" sounding tones, but don't know how this could be done. I see some guitars with a built in piezo system (PRS P22, SC245 and others) and would like this on my Heritage. Any idea on how I might get this done and what equipment to buy? Any help appreciated. Take care. Stringman
ledzef Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 Graphtech makes a tom with their saddles that are a piezo. Go check out their website.
Frank67 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 The GraphTech ghost system sounds really good. Far and away the best pizo system I have experienced. I had it on two guitars - and at the end of the day did not really use it for anything when it came to actually playing with the band or gigging. The guitar won't ever feel like an acoustic guitar. For strumming a few chords it'll sound good and close enough but if you really want the genuine acoustic guitar feeling - take an acoustic guitar on stage.
big bob Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 The Heritage SAE had a saddle/piezo system...
tulk1 Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 I had a Heritage Millennium SAE. It was a full hollow (not semi-solid), factory piezo bridge. Seemed to work okay as an acoustic. I've wondered if, since the big hollows are really acoustics with pickups, if you couldn't add one of the stick-on piezo pups like I do with my mandolin and fiddle? Probably need a preamp to get it to line level. Has anyone tried that?
