Conneazoo Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I know Heritage has done the Firebird shape in the past. Sorry, but I can't remember the model number. Did Heritage ever do a take on the Explorer or Flying V? Just wondering. Thanks in advance.
HANGAR18 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 You are thinking of the model H357. No, they won't do V shapes or explorer shapes. We tried.
Conneazoo Posted September 12, 2015 Author Posted September 12, 2015 You are thinking of the model H357. No, they won't do V shapes or explorer shapes. We tried. Aww shucks. I've been having an Explorer jones lately. I guess I'll have to research Hamer or Dean. I refuse to look at the big G, unless it was Kazoo made. Any other companies that did the Explorer well? Thanks Hangar18 for letting me know.
Millennium Maestro Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 I have a few explorers I am selling, I can give you complete comfort that you are geting what you paid for in any purchase you do with me!
FredZepp Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 These early, long discontinued designs were about as close to an Explorer or a Flying V as Heritage came....
tulk1 Posted September 12, 2015 Posted September 12, 2015 These early, long discontinued designs were about as close to an Explorer or a Flying V as Heritage came.... Ah yes, the Great Flying X. Just never really took off as an iconic design. ...
davesultra Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 I've always said that if "H" did an Explorer design, I'd be the first one in line to buy one!
Conneazoo Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Thanks FredZepp for the images. Can't really say that either of them float my boat. Hangar18, I had a Jackson Kelly at one point and let it go. I found it to be too curvy on the bottom cut. Uncomfortable to play while sitting. The LTD's look cool. Guy, that Dean that you have on GBase looks very cool. I won't entertain the Gibbys though.
HANGAR18 Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 These early, long discontinued designs were about as close to an Explorer or a Flying V as Heritage came.... I'd like this design a lot better if that top left shoulder on the body was shaped like an Explorer, had a normal bridge and had all the wiring "rear route". I'd even accept the selector switch over by the bridge and VOL/TONE knobs.

But if you are looking for a great Explorer try Mike Shishkov. http://shishkovguitars.com/ Mike was a long time employee at Hamer and started his own business about a year ago. He is building some great guitars at reasonable prices. You can find some of his new Ultimates here. http://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/forum/10-shishkov-guitars/
ledzef Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 Can try blackdiamondcustomguitar.com. Website is not working for me.but he does have a store on ebay. He does explorer style guitars.
Gianluca Posted September 13, 2015 Posted September 13, 2015 never tried one but I moderately follow Kauer Guitars and I think it's worthed a look they make the traditional colors too
Conneazoo Posted September 13, 2015 Author Posted September 13, 2015 Awesome replies, thank you. The Shishkov guitars look excellent!!!!
