hopkinwfg Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 wonder would Heritage do a slight custom H150 with an ebony fretboard, one piece Korina body and a korina maple multi laminate neck, a solid big leaf curly maple "checkered" ?
DetroitBlues Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 That sounds entirely possible. Just don't expect it to be cheap.

FredZepp Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 and a korina maple multi laminate neck, a solid big leaf curly maple "checkered" ? What do you mean by "checkered"?
hopkinwfg Posted September 14, 2015 Author Posted September 14, 2015 What do you mean by "checkered"? no idea how to describe it but here the pics
DetroitBlues Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 There are three Heritage dealers on the forum, Millennium Maestro, Skydog52, or JayWolfe. Any of them should be able to help you with pricing.

Gitfiddler Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 wonder would Heritage do a slight custom H150 with an ebony fretboard, one piece Korina body and a korina maple multi laminate neck, a solid big leaf curly maple "checkered" ? They've done those super special (aka expensive) guitars before. Ed Roman had a special run many years ago. Here's an example of a Korina back/neck with a Quilt Top that belongs to HOC'er 'zbluesman':
zguitar71 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 The checkered look you are talking about is a tight flame that is book matched and layed out straight across the top with prominent grain stripes from a perfectly quarter sawn piece of maple. You must specify it being perfectly quarter sawn and the flame to be absolutely perpendicular to the grain. Big leaf will probably not give that type of tight flame it usually has a larger flame and often very quilted. The softer maple tend to be bigger flame and more quilted. The harder maples tend to be tighter flame and the grain tends to show more too. The Ray cells show more on hard maple too that is perfectly QS. Hope that helps.
Millennium Maestro Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 very similar to the Class of 59s, They work with Korina, Marv does a bunch of 357 builds, the top would be classified as an Ultra top ($500)... I specifically asked for a 3 piece neck on a personal guitar and was steered to go 5 piece. Someone mentioned expect to pay a premium... current Solid Black finished 150's with case are MRSPing around $3400 plus upgrades it could be a pricey build. Aside from the neck I believe everything should be available without problems, slight time delays for the Korina,... by the way, I asked for ornate Black Korina which seems very difficult to locate these days!
FredZepp Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 no idea how to describe it but here the pics _c1006213_image_0.jpeg38a86c128eb8c41beee3b5b8a97ac06b.jpeg Ah... BBQ figured. Straight tight flame with prominent cross grain.. that would be a feature of certain western maples used in Ultra Heritage models , so a big leaf maple should be possible.
HANGAR18 Posted September 14, 2015 Posted September 14, 2015 One time I asked for a quilted Maple top on a H150 and I was told that it might be a year or more before they would be able to source a piece of quilted Maple. Something like that you might find yourself waiting longer than they will be in the guitar business.
brentrocks Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 any possibility to know of its rough estimated price ? $4300???
hopkinwfg Posted September 15, 2015 Author Posted September 15, 2015 $4300??? wow..... thats really steep ! maybe a solid top would be really out of my picture here... maybe a closely matched be good
DetroitBlues Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 wow..... thats really steep ! maybe a solid top would be really out of my picture here... maybe a closely matched be good You couldn't touch a Gibson custom order anywhere near that. Expect to pay 2 to 3 times a much to order one through Gibson.

tulk1 Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 wow..... thats really steep ! maybe a solid top would be really out of my picture here... maybe a closely matched be good Quotes don't cost anything. Would be interesting to see first, what Heritage says about the build. Second, what they say it'll cost.
tbonesullivan Posted September 15, 2015 Posted September 15, 2015 That type of flame is hard to get, mainly because the "flame" process usually distorts the grain lines. It has to be a particular cut for it to appear that way, and it can be hard to pull off.
lb61906 Posted September 16, 2015 Posted September 16, 2015 I think I just got emotional looking at this masterpiece!!!!!
