10.5 - 50's sound like gauge I'd like to try!!

Never used 'em, always .011's for me, but I have a friend who played with Bonnie Raitt for years, an out-of-this-world player, and he swears by that set!  Will's a Tele player and bends those things all over the fretboard....

That looks like a good one VJ. Maybe it's the light in the pic but is that a gold top or a natural ?

SS, click on the pic and it'll expand. You can see it's a GT.

I've got 11s on my GT LP and it sustains like hell!   It's such a wonderful instrument!

VJ, nice Goldtop.  Is that an R4?  I see yours is topwrapped.  That could give you additonal flex in your 11's.

'fiddler....  It has to be top wrapped.  It's just the stop tailpiece; there's no bridge.

Good eye Slate.

My Melody Maker had one of these and a guy put a Badass wrap around Bridge on it.  Great little design.  Joe has a bridge similar to this on his '58 Jr.

My custom 150 has that set up.  No TOM.  It's the setup of the LP juniors; Heritage 137's; and the mid-fifties, post-trapeze, pre tune-o-matic Les Pauls.  Intonation on my 150, by the way, is dead on.

Does it help the sustain with only a tailpiece ?

Shrimp....  There are some who would assert so.  There have been a few threads here at the HOC about that.  Very interesting stuff, and some very, very knowledgeable cats here.  Worth doing a word search on the HOC homepage to see what you could dig up.  Do that, and then see what you might conclude.  I'm a big advocate of "less is more" in just about everything.  I am very fond of the sheer simplicity of the setup on my 150.  I have no empirical information on anything technical about it.
