It's happening again. That 535 GAS

I recently sold my 535 because I had to get over a financial hump and I wasn't playing it that often. My crisis has been resolved. In fact, I picked up a few new toys in the last couple of weeks that I didn't post. But the recent death of J.P. Moats only drives home the fact that Heritage guitars as we know them may not be made for much longer. As such, the 535 GAS is rearing it's ugly (well, not really ugly) head again.

It's a sickness.

Thanks for that, PK.

I always get a smile when I read about your GAS attacks.

That said, everyone needs at least one H535.

I'd venture to guess that placing an order for a new Heritage or even buying something that you've had your eye on for a while would be very Smart move.

There's nothing quite like the passing of a close friend or loved one to bring life's true priorities into focus.

I can't help but wonder if the recent loss of J.P. Moats might just be the catalyst to the inevitable.

I'm not taking any chances and have already begun brewing up the details of my next Heritage build.

Thinking of a Roy Clark (only minus the Roy Clark Sig) or IF POSSIBLE..a H-537.

Your logic is sound PK. We can sympathize with your GAS because we all have the same disease. Good luck with the 535 hunt ... it's the fun part! :icon_thumright:

Gee Monica, I happen to have an Amber 535 for sale for say.....$25000.....maybe....

Thanks. But I don't think that one was the right color for me. I seem to have my sights set on an Almond Burst. And like I said, I needed the money at the time. So I made the right move.

Monica, a round trip Amtrak ticket from Chicago to Normal, IL is very inexpensive, and I'd be happy to loan you either of my 535s or my (your old) Prospect for a month or so, no charge. Let me know if you are interested.

I agree! Everyone should have one. In fact, I should go ahead and custom order one.... Oh wait, I did that months ago....

Easy there, big fella!! Besides, you need to stop talking and start building that amp you keep threatening to build! C'mon, it's going to be cold and crappy out soon, you'll have plenty of free evenings to burn your fingertips with a soldering iron!

Schundog and I have reached an agreement for me to buy my old Prospect back from him. That still doesn't mean I won't want a 535. But it will be nice to have the Prospect back.

Agree completely. In fact I just said that same thing to someone recently.

I've currently got my 535 in the rotation, and it's such a sweet guitar. Looks great, plays great, sounds great. Even with the stock schallers, it's got a great sound. I'm playing it through my DC-5, and it's just heavenly clean and dirty.

I really want a 535 and a 150. I had a 535 in a finish I wasn't in love with but man that thing sounded incredible! I am in no hurry, but one day I will get both and be done. Lol. The right one at the right price with the right timing. Could be a while. =)

What in the world is a 537? Does it exist? Or is it just kind of like Sasquash or a Wolverine spotted someplace in Northern Michigan?
