kzoolou Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Think they would do a 537 with a sharp florentine instead of the rounded bout?
Polo Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 Think they would do a 537 with a sharp florentine instead of the rounded bout? Good call, I like your eye for design kzoolou. I imagine something like that wouldn't be cheap considering it would be a custom design of a discontinued model.
HANGAR18 Posted October 4, 2015 Posted October 4, 2015 Just a side note for you top wrap fans (borrowing these kidsmoke photos for a minute)... Do you see in the photos how that stiff section at the base of the strings isn't wrapping nicely over the top because that section doesn't want to bend? (Most noticeable on the middle photo and looking at where the G string sticks up a little bit because it doesn't want to bend.) To help those strings lay down smoothly when top wrapping, cut those little round metal donut things at the string base, off of your old strings during a string change. Then, thread the new strings through those little metal donut things first, THEN thread the strings through stop bar just as you would when you are top wrapping. Doing this will draw up the unwanted slack from the base of the strings leaving only the nice clean portion of the strings to wrap nicely over the top of the stop bar. It will look better, provide better tone and stable tuning. And now back to the regular thread.
