Rod Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 http://www.ebay.com/itm/The-Heritage-H-555-Custom-Sunburst-2003-Ebony-Fret-Board-KILLER-GUITAR-HRW-Pups-/301775015962?hash=item464331501a%3Ag%3A0ukAAOSwKsRWFvus&nma=true&si=R4KZ7xdzkR%252FxM14KWAImRFLtG7Y%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 This guitar has been on Ebay for a while. The listing has now expired for the second time. If it came back up I might be interested, but the fact that it hasn't sold for what seems like a good asking price is troubling. I can't imagine that the lack of F holes is a deterrent. It be a plus to me if for no other reason other than it makes it unusual. I do see something at the base of the headstock that looks like a possible repair, but he states in the listing that there's no damage. You comments appreciated.
kidsmoke Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Gorgeous. And very cool with that top and back access! I blew up that shot of the rear of the headstock/neck and I can't see anything that looks like a repair. Very unique and gorgeous guitar. Mine is a '02 and I love the neck and the build, so this is from a similar time frame. I love the triple nickel, EXCEPT that the fretboard markers put it 1 tick over the line on bling....but in this case it's offset by the lack of bound f holes. DO IT. (hope you weren't look for people to tell you to exersize caution and restraint....wrong place for that nonsense)
tulk1 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Holy moly!! What a gorgeous guitar. I don't see anything that looks out of place on that beauty. And oh yeah, the access plate is nothing but a big PLUS!! in my book. I asked for one on my Prospect and was told a very emphatic NO! Wonder why it hasn't sold?
tbonesullivan Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Well, without F-holes, it NEEDS the access plate, IMHO. Without the plate it would be a real pain to do. It does look great, but I am really a fan of F-holes on semi-hollow guitars. Eventually it'll find the right buyer.
Rod Posted November 4, 2015 Author Posted November 4, 2015 I'm tempted. If I hadn't bought a Roy Clark a couple of months ago I'd buy it. I'm surprised that it's not selling. Figured I must be overlooking something.
Rod Posted November 4, 2015 Author Posted November 4, 2015 Thanks for the replies. I didn't buy it, but I know who did. If it turns out to be as good as it looked, it was quite a good deal. The lack of F holes makes this one unique, and that made it appealing to me. There's probably an interesting story behind that one.
H535UK Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 It reminds me of the Gibson "Lucille" model that had no f holes, if I remember correctly. Maybe this H555 was a custom order by a BB King fan?
